This is an On-site position working within a collaborative studio. Internships are full-time, paid positions and are typically 3 months long. SAR+ can be flexible based on your university's summer schedule. SAR+ is on the lookout for our next summer architecture intern. As a 50-person architecture firm in downtown Denver, we've worked successfully in a variety of different project types from small scale office and restaurant interiors to larger-scale residential communities and urban planning efforts. No matter the size, use, or type, almost all our projects have complex programs and unique constraints that require creative innovative solutions. We function as a studio environment that exemplifies our attitude towards collaboration - we are all in this together. We are not interested in egos or pride of authorship; the best idea wins, regardless of who brought it to the table. We believe that drawing is thinking and that communicating well, through models, drawings, and words, is paramount to creating successful projects. Our office is across from Denver's Union Station in the Lower Downtown (LoDo) neighborhood. Qualifications Entering their final year in an Interior Design Bachelor's Degree or similar Some professional experience in Interior Design preferred Experience in Revit, Enscape, Lumion, and/or Twin Motion Knowledge of design principles and working knowledge of construction methods, building codes, safety standards, and ADA compliance Experience in furniture/finish selection Experience in lighting design, including the selection of lighting fixtures, layout, and integration of natural and artificial lighting Enthusiasm for growing in the Architecture & Design Industry Responsibilities Involvement in creative efforts of interior design team and consultants on projects from initial stages through construction and installation Assist in the development of design concepts, storytelling, and participate in design presentations Participate in interior design team vision by applying group direction and goals Apply education to select materials to create a unique and thoughtful space Participate in client, vendor, and consultant relationships Apply education for Furniture/finish selection Work with cross-function, adaptable team members including Architects, Engineers, Consultants, and Contractors Your Additional Characteristics Strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills Resourceful and self-motivated Demonstrates a strong desire to grow and continuously expand knowledge and skills in the field Self-aware of your strengths and areas to improve Strong ability to work effectively within a team to achieve shared goals Enthusiastic and passionate Strong interpersonal skills Committed to promoting diversity and inclusion Committed to promoting sustainability TO BE CONSIDERED, APPLICANTS MUST SUBMIT A CURRENT PORTFOLIO.
