Job Description
Collaborates with department leads, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop written material, collaterals, newsletters, press releases, talking points, scripts, web content copy and other relevant materials to promote and inform the public and press of McKinney campaigns and events such as corporate and leadership messaging about important public health issues, facility events, required signage. Highlights departmental accomplishments and success stories for viable media opportunities. Orders and inventories NYC Health and Hospitals branded promotional materials. Provide oversight of material that is placed on the media monitors located in strategic areas throughout the facility to share important information with staff, residents and visitors such as upcoming staff engagement events, visitation changes, and recreation activities. Acts as a community liaison to assist with establishing and maintaining positive relationships with community organizations, community advocacy groups that target vulnerable populations, provider offices, faith-based organizations and perform other activities to enhance McKinney's presence in the community Organizes and attends meetings with local community boards, Annual Public Meeting and represents McKinney at community events for service promotion, education, and engagement. Collaborates with the office of Diversity and Inclusion to submit the yearly survey that earns McKinney the title of Leader in LGBTQ Healthcare Equality. Develops strategy and budgets for the Community Relations and Communications departments Acts as an Emergency Management Public Information Officer Liaison to coordinate with representatives from other agencies such as local emergency management, law enforcement, licensing agencies and serve as conduit for information to internal and external stakeholders, including residents, staff, visitors and families, and the news media, as approved by the incident commander and Central Office. Assists the PAC service line Marketing Department in event planning, organizing speaking engagements and other formal presentations with the general public, media, community groups, employers and employees. Identifies subject matter experts to support key message development and coordinates the development of audio and visual materials, if required. Ensures communications are tailored to the audience. Oversees facility's Volunteer services including design, organization, and implementation of the programs and strategies related coordination, recruitment, onboarding and compliance. Supervises the day-to-day operations of the Front Desk area by hiring, training, managing staff's schedule and performance, addresses callers and/or visitors complains and inquires. Collaborates with the Post-Acute Care Director of Communications Participate on Facility wide committees to increase staff and resident engagement and satisfaction i.e. Care Experience and Helping Healers Heal Oversees operations of the beauty parlor including approval of the beautician(s) schedule, writing/reviewing relevant policies and procedures based on regulatory and infection control requirements Oversees operations of the mail room ensuring appropriate handling of ingoing and outgoing mail for residents and the organization Perform other duties as assigned or requested
Minimum Qualifications 1. Bachelors' degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Management,Public Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline; and, 2.Two (2) years of responsible public relations experience involving the press and communicationsmedia, employee communications, community affairs, educational affairs, public information,corporate and business affairs, governmental and legislative affairs; or 3.Satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. However, all candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in disciplines, as listed in "1" above.
