We are seeking a dynamic and experienced communications expert to undertake all aspects of our organization's communications efforts, with a strong emphasis on social media. The part-time consultant will develop and implement strategies to enhance our visibility, engage our audiences, and effectively convey our mission and the impact of our many social justice initiatives through which our faith and calling is expressed in the world with an emphasis on justice, love and peace. Key Responsibilities: Develop and Implement Communication Strategies: Create and execute comprehensive communication plans that align with the organization's mission and goals. Develop targeted campaigns to promote events, programs, and initiatives. Content Creation and Social Media Management: Manage and grow the organization's presence on various platforms Create, design, curate, and schedule engaging content that reflects our mission and resonates with our audience. Monitor social media channels, respond to inquiries, and engage with followers to build a strong online community. Media Relations: Prepare press releases and coordinate media outreach to secure coverage of the organization's activities and initiatives. Analytics and Reporting: Track and analyze the performance of communication efforts, including social media engagement, email, and website traffic. Provide regular reports with insights and recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in communications, preferably within the nonprofit sector. Proven experience managing social media platforms and developing successful social media campaigns. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to create compelling content. Proficiency in using digital tools and platforms, including content management systems, social media management tools, and analytics software. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Passion for social justice and a deep understanding of the issues relevant to the communities we serve.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with graphic design tools Familiarity with email marketing platforms Knowledge of SEO best practices and website optimization.
Relationships: The Communications Manager will report to the Senior Pastor/Head of Staff and will work closely with the Church Administrator, Executive Assistant, and church elders.
