About the Job.... As the
Manager, Website Experience & SEO
you will play a pivotal role in shaping and optimizing ATD's digital presence. This position is responsible for developing and executing the overall website strategy, ensuring an exceptional user experience across all ATD websites and digital platforms. The role will drive initiatives to enhance website functionality, align content management systems (CMS) with business goals, and ensure seamless integration with broader digital ecosystems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in website strategy, development, SEO, and project management, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with IT and other cross-functional teams to deliver impactful digital experiences.
Specifically, the key initiatives and responsibilities of this role include:
Website Strategy and Roadmap Development Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for ATD's websites, aligning with organizational goals and user needs. Collaborate with IT to design and maintain a forward-looking website roadmap, encompassing CMS enhancements, new tools, and platform upgrades.
Website Experience and Optimization Lead the design and implementation of user-centered website experiences, ensuring accessibility, usability, and performance. Make recommendations to optimize web templates and layouts to drive user engagement and conversions. Streamline user journeys across ATD websites and digital platforms, ensuring consistency in design, content, and navigation. Identify opportunities to integrate microsites and purpose-built platforms into the broader digital strategy.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Develop and execute a robust SEO strategy to drive organic traffic growth, improve search rankings, and enhance discoverability. Conduct keyword research, on-page and off-page optimization, and technical SEO audits to identify improvement opportunities. Partner with content creators to implement SEO best practices across all digital content.
CMS and Digital Tools Management Partner with IT in administration and optimization of the CMS platform to ensure scalability, reliability, and ease of use for content teams. Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies to enhance the digital experience and streamline website management.
Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with IT, marketing, and other teams to execute the website roadmap and deliver high-quality digital projects on time and within budget. Serve as the liaison for website-related projects, ensuring alignment with broader organizational initiatives.
Data-Driven Insights and Reporting Leverage analytics tools to monitor website performance, user behavior, and SEO metrics, and provide actionable insights. Report on website performance and recommend adjustments to optimize user experience and achieve business objectives.
About You...
5+ years of experience in website management, digital strategy, and SEO. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Digital Communications, Web Development, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent work experience. Proven ability to develop and execute website strategies that enhance user experience and align with business goals. Strong knowledge of technical SEO best practices, including keyword research, search engine algorithms, and performance tracking. Hands-on experience managing and optimizing CMS platforms and integrating new digital tools. Demonstrated ability to manage website initiatives from concept to execution, working cross-functionally with IT, marketing, and content teams. Experience using web analytics tools to monitor site performance, user behavior, and SEO effectiveness. Familiarity with web design best practices, usability principles, and accessibility standards. Strong communication skills with the ability to partner with internal stakeholders across the organization to align website initiatives with broader digital and organizational strategies. Please note this is a hybrid position. In-office time is required. Our recently remodeled office is in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, right on King Street, just a block away from the Metro and the Historical District and Old Town Waterfront along the Potomac River.
