Overview:

The Graphic Artist Intern will join our team of experienced marketing associates in creating designs that best showcase our brand messages to our customers. This associate will work on a team of fellow graphic artists sharing design, editing, proofing, and preflight responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Design clear and compelling designs while maintaining brand standards and meeting communication objectives.
  • Create design projects from concept to production for a variety of areas including, but not limited to: in-store display, print catalogs, flyers, and direct mail.
  • Revise detailed layouts and provide execution efficiencies.
  • Build ready-to-go final artwork files for digital or print.
  • Execute multiple assignments on time, and revise to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Remain in tune with design trends and maintain best practices. Share findings with fellow artists
    to create an atmosphere for continual collaboration.
  • General Marketing responsibilities:
    • Actively participate in team and office meetings/trainings
    • Confer with leadership to resolve problems or questions
    • Strive to meet goals and assist others in accomplishing their goals
    • Ability to be highly organized and maintain all detailed aspects of projects
    • Continuous brainstorm of new processes to improve workflows
    • Strong initiative for continuous improvement
    • Ability to work independently and with the team
  • Build and maintain Marketing standards
    • Ensure the Scheels brand style guide is upheld across all digital and video content.
    • Organize daily routines, budget management, and general administrative tasks.
    • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Education & Experience:

  • Ideal candidate would be pursuing a degree (BFA, BS or AAS) in Graphic Design, or a related field
  • Interest in motion graphic design/animation preferred but not required
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office


Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation
