Description
We are seeking a skilled UI Artist with a minimum of 3 years of game development experience and at least one shipped title. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our team to create visually stunning and user-friendly menus, icons, wireframes, and more, ensuring the game's features are presented clearly and consistently. The ideal candidate has a strong grasp of both the artistic and user experience aspects of UI design, thrives in a collaborative environment, takes initiative, works autonomously, and is excited to contribute to a dynamic, well-funded startup.
A portfolio of work will be required upon submission.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Art Director to finalize the look and feel of our interface, with a presentation that has a consistent visual identity and language.
  • Collaborate with the UX Director to ensure the interface provides a clear and easy to understand user experience.
  • Create concept sketches, wireframes, mockups, transitions and animations for game features.
  • Collaborate with engineers to carry designs from concept to final implementation in Unreal's UMG framework.
  • Iterate on key player feedback to optimize for simplicity, comprehension, and function.
  • Work closely with the team to iterate on the best solutions to UI challenges that come up.

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • A strong understanding of fundamental graphic design principles (color, typography, layout, grid, hierarchy, animation, etc).
  • Experience working with UX/UI designs that leverage gamepad and mouse/keyboard input types.
  • Strong iconography and vector art skills.
  • Highly proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects.
  • An understanding of usability design principles and trends in the industry.

Desired Skills

  • Proven experience implementing UI interfaces in Unreal's UMG toolset.
  • Familiarity with prototyping and mockup software like Figma, Adobe XD, etc.
  • A basic understanding of Unreal materials as they pertain to UI asset creation and display.
  • Experience in 3D Software like Blender or Maya.
  • A degree in graphic design or related field.
