Position Summary
The School of Communication, Journalism, and Media seeks an assistant professor with expertise in mediated and/or technological communication. The teaching load is 3:3. We welcome applications from candidates engaged in high-quality, theory-driven scholarship that explores the complex interactions of mediated communication, (new) technologies, artificial intelligence, new media studies, digital activism, informational literacy, or other related fields.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Communication or related field (must be completed no later than August, 2025).
- Previous college teaching experience in communication courses.
- Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses related to computer-mediated communication.
- Active research agenda related to computer-mediated communication.
- Ability to engage in service to the area, school, university, and discipline.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Research related to computer-mediated communication.
- Experience mentoring or teaching graduate students.
