Education Unlimited provides academic summer camps & pre-college summer programs for students entering grades 4-12. Our summer programs include public speaking camps, college admissions prep programs, science camps, summer acting camp, writing camps, computer camp, leadership camp, video production camp, and college tours.

Average Class Size: 10 students
On-Campus Instructors: On-campus position available at UC Berkeley and UCLA for immediate hire. This is a residential position and teachers will be provided with room and board in the university residence halls. A commuter position may also be available for local instructors.
Course Description:
- Personal Statement Writing: Personal Statement instruction is a significant part of the daily schedule. Students receive one-on-one advice and instruction from experienced educators to complete this portion of their application by the end of the program. Students learn to present themselves positively in the college admission process and will write 2-3 essay responses ready for submission.
- College Counseling: College Admission Prep Camp provides participants with direct access to top guidance counselors. After an initial interest inventory, counselors help identify suitable universities based on each student’s interests and academic background.
Job Description:
The Personal Statement/College Counseling Instructor is responsible for guiding students through the College Admissions Prep Camp Instruction. They will help each student complete personal statement responses and provide one-on-one feedback on their writing. The instructor will also lead small group and individual college counseling sessions, assisting students in creating a detailed timeline/action plan for their college applications.
Class sizes are kept small (average 10 students) to allow for personalized attention. Instructors will also track student work and submit deliverables to the camp director and EU home office.
On-Campus Additional Duties:
In addition to teaching, instructors should assist the camp director with supervision, recreational activities, and some administrative tasks. They should be mature, reliable, and able to work well with fellow staffers, ensuring the health and safety of students while fulfilling instructional objectives.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years’ experience providing college counseling to high school students
- 3+ years’ experience teaching writing at the high school or college level
- Recent experience in and understanding of college admissions
- Master's Degree
- Calm and professional demeanor
- Willingness and ability to work long hours
- Self-motivation and follow-through
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong people skills
- A passion for education and writing
