Job Title: Proposal Writer

Location: Huntsville, AL

The Proposal Writer is responsible for developing high-quality, compelling proposals in response to government Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and other solicitations. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams, including business development, technical experts, and management, to craft persuasive proposals that align with client requirements and company capabilities.


Key Responsibilities:

Proposal Development: Create compliant, well-written, and compelling proposals in response to government solicitations.

Content Creation: Draft executive summaries, technical narratives, past performance sections, management plans, and other proposal components.

Proposal Coordination: Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), business development teams, and leadership to gather and incorporate technical and operational input.

Compliance Review: Ensure all proposal submissions meet RFP requirements, including formatting, structure, and content guidelines.

Research and Analysis: Analyze RFPs, RFIs, and related documents to identify requirements, evaluation criteria, and key deliverables.

Templates and Tools: Develop and maintain proposal templates, boilerplate language, and content libraries for efficient proposal generation.

Editing and Quality Assurance: Proofread and edit proposals for accuracy, consistency, and clarity.

Proposal Tracking: Maintain proposal schedules, deadlines, and submission records to ensure timely delivery.

Requirements:


• 3+ years of experience writing proposals for government contracts, preferably in the defense sector.

• Familiarity with federal procurement processes, including FAR/DFARS regulations.

• Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills.

• Strong ability to analyze and synthesize complex technical information.

• Works well with teams and across multiple organizations

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on detail.

• Self-motivated, collaborative, and able to work independently.

• Experience with tools like SharePoint, proposal automation software, or CRM systems.

• PMP certification or training.

• Knowledge of the defense industry, including key players, terminology, and trends.
