Position Summary The Content Strategist leads the development and execution of an omnichannel content strategy, aligning it with the university's mission, academic goals, and institutional priorities. This role is pivotal in supporting the university's brand reputation, fostering engagement among diverse audiences.
In collaboration with the Marketing & Communications Data Analyst, the Content Strategist evaluates content performance metrics and audience insights to optimize strategies and deliver measurable results. They stay ahead of industry trends, leveraging an understanding of key university audiences-including prospective students, alumni, and donors-and uses technological advancements to plan compelling content that educates, inspires, and drives action.
The Content Strategist ensures the university's content approach is both innovative and cohesive, with an emphasis on collaboration across departments. They proactively identify strategic opportunities, pitch creative ideas, and ensure alignment with the university's broader goals. By delivering engaging, audience-focused content, this role helps the university's story resonate and achieve its objectives.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience in content strategy, marketing, or related fields, with a focus on strategic planning and collaboration.
Strong understanding of content marketing principles and audience engagement strategies.
Proven ability to analyze data and apply insights to refine strategies and achieve goals.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience working across diverse teams and stakeholders.

Duties/Responsibilities Content Strategy & Planning (50%) Participate in developing a comprehensive content strategy that supports UGA's brand and strategic goals.
Maintain a centrally led, quarterly content plan to coordinate content efforts across the institution.
Collaborate with Media Communications, Creative Services, Internal Communications, and Marketing & Brand Strategy teams to strategically plan content placement across all communication channels.
Work with account and project managers to organize teams that develop, execute, and complete integrated marketing and communication plans.
Build and sustain relationships with key stakeholders across UGA to source content ideas and ensure alignment with institutional goals.
Percentage of time 50
Duties/Responsibilities Cross-Functional Collaboration (30%) Act as a strategic partner to internal teams, providing insights and recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of content marketing initiatives.
Ensure all content strategies are aligned with UGA's broader marketing and communications goals, fostering a seamless, cohesive approach across channels.
Serve as a liaison between teams to ensure that content efforts are integrated and coordinated for maximum impact.

Duties/Responsibilities Data Management and Analysis (15%) Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications Data Analyst to review performance data and make strategic recommendations.
