About the College/Unit/Department

UGA Online is the University of Georgia's online program and course development and marketing unit. Our mission is to:

Partner with academic units to identify, develop, launch, and market high-quality graduate programs that align with UGA's academic strengths, meet workforce needs, and fit in areas of market demand.

Support online student recruitment and retention efforts with student communications and services, as well as data-driven advertising.

Partner with academic departments and faculty to create online summer undergraduate courses that help undergraduates graduate in four years or less.

Generally, promote quality and innovation in online learning university-wide.

We have four teams to accomplish this mission: Instructional Design, Marketing, the Media Cooperative shared with the Center for Teaching and Learning, and Student Services and State Authorization.

Minimum Qualifications Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field; or, an equivalent combination of education and related experience

Demonstrated experience in video production, including shooting, editing, and post-production techniques.

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Apps, and project management toolsets.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage projects independently or as part of a team.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas concisely.

A portfolio showcasing your video production and editing skills is required.

Position Summary The Media Producer plays a pivotal role in the Office of Online Learning's media production team, contributing to the creation of high-quality, engaging content for diverse audiences. This role operates across every step of the production process: from ideation to product delivery. Key responsibilities center around producing content, with a focus on post-production, including the integration of motion graphics, visual effects, and sound design. The Media Producer collaborates closely with the media manager and clients across all stages of production-providing input from concept development to final product delivery. Strong communication skills are essential, as this role requires aligning creative output with client expectations and contributing to a cohesive team dynamic.

Duties/Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities Produces video and related media as an effective team member. Participates in related external activities and enhances media and video production services. This encompasses the core function of the role. It includes all aspects of video production, from pre-production planning through production to post-production.

This also includes collaboration with team members, providing constructive feedback, and working effectively within a team environment.

Percentage of time 75

Duties/Responsibilities Researches current and emerging production technologies. This involves staying up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in video production technology. This could include researching new cameras, editing software, lighting equipment, or other tools.

It also means exploring new production techniques, such as virtual reality, augmented reality, or drone cinematography. This research is crucial for ensuring the team remains competitive and can leverage the best tools and techniques to create innovative and engaging video content.

Duties/Responsibilities Develop relations between management, outside vendors, site production, post production and customer to develop premium products.

Focuses on communication and collaboration. Involves building and maintaining strong relationships with various stakeholders, including internal management, external vendors (equipment rental, freelance talent, etc.), the production team on location, the post-production team (editors, animators), and ultimately, the client or customer.

Duties/Responsibilities Makes recommendations regarding equipment upgrades and acquisitions as well as services in line with the overall mission of the CTL/OOL Media Cooperative. Works with staff and instructional resources to ensure adequate inventory needs for project supplies, and monitors maintenance and upgrade needs. Maintains and fulfills requests from the Media Cooperative's digital and physical archives.
