We have an immediate opening for an Senior Entry Writer for our Edison, NJ office.

The Senior Customs Entry Writer is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate preparation and submission of customs documentation for imports. This role involves coordinating with customs brokers, clients, and internal teams to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Customs Documentation:
- Prepare and review import documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
- Ensure all documentation complies with customs regulations and company policies.
- Classify goods according to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS).

2. Compliance:
- Stay updated with changes in customs regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
- Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and international regulations.
- Conduct audits to verify accuracy and compliance of customs entries.

3. Coordination:
- Coordinate with customs brokers, carriers, and other third parties to facilitate the customs clearance process.
- Communicate with clients to obtain required documentation and provide updates on shipment status.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as logistics, finance, and sales to ensure seamless operations.

4. Problem Resolution:
- Address and resolve issues related to customs clearance, such as documentation discrepancies or delays.
- Provide guidance and support to junior customs entry writers and other team members.

5. Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of all customs transactions and documentation.
- Prepare regular reports on customs activities, including entry volume, compliance status, and any issues encountered.

**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in customs brokerage or a similar role, with at least 2 years in a senior position.
- Strong knowledge of customs regulations, import procedures, and the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS).
- Proficiency in customs software and systems.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Licensed Customs Broker preferred but not required
