What You'll Do:
Traeger is seeking a Design Researcher to join our team and contribute to the development of innovative products. As a Design Researcher, you will play a crucial role in understanding consumer needs, behaviors, and experiences to inform and inspire our product design and development processes. The newly formed APRD team is passionate and excited about building innovative products and a world-class team. You will also be passionate about the mission and have the skills to deliver innovation to our consumers. This position is based at our Salt Lake City HQ.
How You'll Help Us Win:
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to gather insights on consumer needs, behaviors, and experiences.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product design, engineering, and product management to integrate research findings into the product development process.
- Develop research plans, methodologies, and tools to effectively capture user insights.
- Analyze and synthesize research data to generate actionable insights and recommendations.
- Create detailed reports and presentations to communicate research findings to stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in design research and user experience.
- Advocate for the user perspective throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Manage and maintain the Consumer Experience lab.
- Travel to and plan research trips in target markets and demographics.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design Research, Industrial Design, UX/UI, Psychology, Anthropology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in conducting design research, including user interviews, surveys, usability testing, and ethnographic studies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Passionate about understanding user needs and improving user experiences.
- Familiarity with design thinking and user-centered design principles.
- Demonstrable interest and passion for new product development and innovation.
- PC literate in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
- Initiative and a wide degree of creativity is required.
- Ability to communicate ideas and information verbally and in written form.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of organizational skill.
- Ability to travel to Traeger’s target markets.
