LIBRARY ASSOCIATE II (Multiple Opportunities)

Responsible for various technical and sub-professional library service functions in the Library System. Work involves complex clerical and technical library duties; provides limited reader assistance and reference services. Duties are performed under the supervision of a Library Associate IV, V or a Librarian; however, employees are afforded some latitude in developing and carrying out services in their assigned areas.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of two (2) years of college-level coursework (must specify 60-semester/90-quarter hours).
2. Graduation from high school/equivalent; one (1) year of college-level coursework (must specify 30-semester/45-quarter hours) AND one (1) year of experience working in a library.
3. Graduation from high school/equivalent AND two (2) years of experience working in a library.

PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE: Working in a library circulation/member services section/bookstore; handling cash; using an automated circulation system (must specify system used on application); providing assistance with self-service technology (must specify on application). Also desirable: Bi/trilingual (English/Spanish/Creole).
