Job Description
Popcorn for the People is seeking a dynamic and creative Marketing Assistant to support our marketing efforts in building brand awareness, engaging customers, and driving sales. As a key member of the Marketing Team, you will contribute to content creation, campaign execution, and digital engagement strategies across multiple platforms. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact while developing your marketing skills in a mission-driven organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop content for social media, email marketing, and website updates that aligns with marketing strategy and content calendar.
- Conduct market research to identify industry trends, competitors, and target audiences / customer profiles.
- Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics, providing insights to leadership.
- Create content and collaborate with other designers, copywriters, and other team members to create engaging promotional materials.
- Assist in promotional activities.
- Provide administrative support to the marketing team as needed.
Core Duties:
Social Media Management
- Assist in creating original content for platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn, including copywriting, graphic design, and video editing.
- Curate relevant third-party content to engage the community.
- Help build following, drive engagement and sales, and promote mission.
Influencer Marketing
- Research and identify influencers who align with Popcorn for the People’s mission and values.
- Support outreach efforts, coordinate influencer campaigns, and maintain strong relationships to increase brand visibility.
- Track influencer engagement and assess campaign performance.
Email & SMS Marketing
- Design and create compelling emails to keep customers informed about products, promotions, events, and partnerships.
- Collaborate with the team to integrate emails into the content calendar, ensuring alignment with campaigns and company goals.
Graphic Design & Content Creation
- Utilize design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Illustrator) to create on-brand content for social media and website use.
- Produce and edit short-form videos for social media, highlighting products, employee stories, and brand initiatives.
- Apply basic editing techniques, including text overlays, music integration, and seasonal themes.
Special Projects
- Work on designated special projects that amplify our neurodiverse workforce’s experiences, providing first-person and shared perspectives. These may include: blog posts, videos, interviews, infographics, case studies.
Qualifications:
- Passion for digital marketing, social media, and customer engagement.
- Familiarity with design tools (e.g., Canva) and/or video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere or similar).
- Strong attention to detail and a creative mindset.
- Excellent collaboration skills, with openness to feedback and a team-oriented approach.
- Commitment to Popcorn for the People’s mission of creating opportunities for neurodivergent individuals and promoting diversity and inclusion.
Reporting Structure:
This role reports directly to the Head of Marketing.
