The role you’ll contribute:

The Director of Strategic Communications is responsible for planning, developing and executing communication strategies that support the strategic priorities of the organization and strategic agenda (Vision 2030). This senior-level position will partner with strategy, project management and project leads to deliver communications strategies that support major organizational transformation and change initiatives. Primary responsibilities include developing and executing strategies, communication plans, messaging and resources for specific aspirations/initiatives that increase audience awareness, promote adoption and help lead to complete integration of the initiative withing the organization. The Director of Strategic Communications will partner with stakeholders to formulate a comprehensive and compelling approach in support of transformation and change initiatives that will lead to the desired outcome(s).

  •          Collaborates with strategy and project leads to understand business issues, develop messaging, and determine frequency and method of communication to accelerate aspiration/initiative awareness and adoption.
  •          Provides an integrated/wholistic view across all projects assigned and/or impacting assigned projects and organizational changes in order to influence the communication cascade, project deliverable timing and execution.
  •          Leads in the development of communication strategies and plans that deliver relevant and timely information to diverse groups of internal audiences and stakeholders.
  •          Leads in the development of communication deliverables that provide cohesive, consistent and effective messaging; including the who, what, when, and why of the transformation initiative, to inform, inspire and educate various internal audiences and stakeholders.
  •          Helps to distill change and transformation impacts into succinct, user-friendly communications and conceptualizes and creates a wide variety of communication resources targeted at internal audiences from all levels of the organization, delivered through multiple channels (e.g., in person, print, digital, etc.)
  •          Ensures strong business partnerships with other strategy, transformation and communication functions to develop an integrated communication strategy that ensures consistency and effectiveness in transformation/change-related communications.
  •          Manages assigned project teams, including training, performance management, assignment, and allocation of resources including approval for scheduling of staff
  •          Develops, communicates and manages project requirements and timelines with supervisor and team members to ensure proper project completion as well as on-time delivery
  •          Identifies risks and resolves issues with team and supervisor before client interaction.
  •          Assists the executive director and vice president in conceptualization and development of large-scale, high-level communications projects in support of senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  •          Manages creative productions – including print, video and digital assets.
  •          Provides editorial overview and support to assigned projects and programs
  •          Conducts ongoing communication audits and feedback to evaluate methods of communication, receptivity and recall of key messages and take appropriate action based on audit results.
