Communications Specialist II

on our Publishing Operations team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 2 days a week in the office. As a Communications Specialist II, you will be responsible for executing internal communications strategies for the Business Operations business unit, including key messaging, communication channels, and tactics. Support process optimization, project management, cross-department collaboration, and special projects to enhance team productivity and achieve performance goals. RESPONSIBILITIES: Communications Execute the internal communications strategy for JAMA Network Publishing Business Operations, including key messaging, communication channels, and tactics Create and deliver Business Operations communications, including email updates, newsletters, intranet content, and presentations Work with Director of Planning and Communications to ensure all communication is approved Monitor and measure the effectiveness of internal communications, and make recommendations for improvement based on feedback and data analysis Develop and maintain a calendar of content to be communicated to ensure timely and relevant dissemination of information. Business Operations Support Support Business Operations team in key meetings, including building agendas, taking and sharing meetings notes, and tracking progress on action items Serve as a liaison with other departments such as Production, Sales, Editorial, Product Management to ensure smooth communication and documentation of initiatives Manage the internal Publishing Resource SharePoint page including working with teams to create and update relevant content Support Planning and Communications Director creating content for development planning and other initiatives as required Organize agendas for meetings, including arranging for trainings and team-building activities Project Management Manage small scale projects, creating and leading project plans, running meetings, updating status reports, and tracking and resolving issues Provide documentation support drafting project charters, meeting notes, decision logs, new process summaries, and guides and templates, working closely with Project Manager and Operations Manager Recommend and implement streamlined solutions that eliminate inefficiencies and improve productivity across the team Support other key team initiatives as requested May include other responsibilities as assigned REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree required, preferably in communications, marketing, journalism or related discipline desirable Minimum 3+ years experience with internal or external communications Proven track record in executing communication strategies Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to draft and edit content Solid project management skills; experience in process optimization and resource allocation a plus. Proficient in documentation with hands-on experience in project management tools and techniques. Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail The salary range for this position is $67,320 - $84,864. This is the lowest to highest salary we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to business consideration, geographical location, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
