Under the general supervision of the Digital Engagement Manager, this position creates, develops and produces high quality, innovative video content for distribution across all City platforms including cable television (OLYTV3), web/video-on-demand streaming, and social media channels. Produces and directs a wide variety of live and taped projects including studio and field productions, episodic programming, public service announcements, documentaries, interviews and training videos.2. Performs all phases of video production including project development, script research and writing, producing/directing, videography and post-production.3. Works creatively to ensure all content is of the highest production value.4. Creates, develops and pitches original ideas for potential programming, both individually and working with staff throughout the City.5.Assists with the broadcast of live public meetings for the Olympia City Council by operating video cameras, switchers and graphics, including full set up, broadcast monitoring and breakdown of meeting.6.Maintains production database, media archive and accurate records of all work performed.7.Evaluates emerging audio, video and broadcast technology trends, policies, practices, and tools. Makes recommendations to improve and increase quality and effectiveness.8. Builds and maintain relationships with key internal and external partners/stakeholders.9. Follows City and public safety guidelines and protocols and performs job functions in a safe manner; reports all safety hazards per established policies and procedures.10.
