About the Role
As a Lead UX Researcher, you will be responsible for creating, executing, and managing UX Research roadmaps for large-scale product initiatives. You will facilitate collaboration between stakeholders from Product, Technology, and UX, ensuring that everyone's work is informed by customer research. You will execute a combination of large, foundational studies as well as lean, impactful studies. You will mentor and guide research of individuals assigned to your projects. You will translate research insights into actionable recommendations that directly address business needs.

Specific responsibilities include:

  1. Collaborate with senior stakeholders to understand business opportunities and identify and prioritize projects and roadmap for the UX research team.
  2. Guide researchers on the design and execution of qualitative and quantitative studies.
  3. Review and provide feedback on research project plans and deliverables.
  4. Conduct research using a wide variety of UX methodologies.
  5. Collect, analyze, and synthesize data from multiple sources, including the team's current and prior research and business intelligence data, to understand users' behavior and provide actionable guidance to product teams.
  6. Share research insights and recommendations with cross-functional partners in a creative and compelling way that facilitates action.
  7. Set goals, measure the success of research projects, and implement ways to continually improve.
  8. Contribute to, refine, and promote department UX research standards and practices.
  9. Apply frameworks to elevate the role of research in the product development process.
  10. Create a collaborative and engaging environment with cross-functional partners to increase engagement for research activities.
  11. Build awareness of our UX Research team and customer insights learned via blogs, newsletters, speaking engagements, etc.

About You
You are a fit for the role of Lead User Experience Researcher if you have:

  • Masters preferred in a field such as Cognitive Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Engineering Psychology, Computer Science, Technical Communication, or Information Design, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of UX research experience or 12+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • A track record of delivering research that influenced product and design strategy and execution.
  • Strong qualitative research skills across a variety of methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
