Department SummaryThe University of Mississippi is seeking a creative, talented video production professional who can capture the Ole Miss experience. The person in this position will be a member of a three-person team, responsible for creating high-quality video projects that bring the university's story to life. Candidates should be skilled in all areas of video production, including camera work, lighting, audio, and post-production work. They should be able to take direction well and flourish in an atmosphere that revolves heavily on team-based communication. A professional portfolio that represents knowledge and expertise in high-quality video production work is required, as is knowledge and understanding of professional video and audio editing hardware and software, including but not limited to Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects.

Role SummaryThis position supports multimedia campaigns or projects (including but not limited to print, video, broadcasts, or photography) by creating new multimedia materials or updating existing multimedia materials for marketing and communications initiatives. This position is responsible for the production of videos created within University Marketing & Communications (documentary and/or marketing-related media projects) and ensuring all other videos across the campus align with the institutional brand. This team member must work with other members of the media productions office to capture and create high-quality videos that best serve the university through its website, social pages, and departmental needs. This candidate must work within production schedules and be able to deliver work to meet final deadlines.
Examples of Work Performed- Organizes field shoots, writes scripts,
- Conceptualizes, researches, and organizes video ideas that align with the University Marketing & Communications strategic plan
- Produces motion and still graphics
- Works with student workers and graduate assistants to assist in productions/projects
- Coordinates pre-production and post-production operations.
- Has knowledge and ability to work within production timelines.
- Shoots, edits, and delivers final products to staff and department contacts.
- Uses a wide variety of production equipment in both field and studio (cameras, lights, audio gear, etc.)
- Works well with a team and incorporates other members of the Marcomm office to create well-rounded projects.
- Assists Producer/Director II in brand review and outside vendor productions.

- Develops and updates multimedia content using appropriate professional software according to specifications outlined within UM brand platform.
- Aptly applies tone, personality, and style to specific media of expertise.
- Prepares drafts of materials based on the assigned job.
- Prepares, edits, and supplies files, graphics, and other content needed for unit or institutional multimedia materials.
- Updates and maintains archive and graphic libraries for use by the creative team.
