What We Need:

We’re seeking an experienced Traffic and Weather Reporter to join the team!

What You'll Do:

  1. Gather regional traffic information and enter details into internal computer and web systems;
  2. Read traffic reports and commercials;
  3. Identify, research, and create copy regarding traffic to feature during on-air shift;
  4. Manage information; ensure details are accurate and current;
  5. Maintain crucial deadlines to provide traffic updates in a timely fashion;
  6. May prepare written content, visual images, audio material, and video.

What You'll Need:

  1. Knowledge of local coverage area geography and roadways, mass transit, and traffic patterns;
  2. Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint;
  3. Pleasant, charismatic, and well-controlled voice; excellent pronunciation;
  4. Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented, “newsroom-like” collaborative environment;
  5. Ability to set priorities and multi-task in a fast-paced environment;
  6. Willing to work split shifts; 4 hours in AM Drive, 4 hours in PM Drive;
  7. Willing to work weekends;
  8. Previous on-air broadcast experience;
  9. College degree is preferred but not required.
