Design Internship, Accessories - Talbots
The Design Intern position is responsible for assisting the category Design team in the creation of a fully concepted line for the designated end user.
Internship Details Assists in identifying seasonal fashion direction, merchandise trends and client needs for the area of responsibility. Assists in the execution of tech packs, both flat and technical sketches, pitch sheets and trim sheets. Contributes to conceptualization and implementation of the line. Prepares presentation boards. highlighting fabric, flats, and figure sketches. Assists in set up of all Concept presentations. Adheres to calendar and attends all meetings as required. Research competitive markets. Builds collaborative relationships with vendors and internal clients. Interfaces professionally and works effectively in group settings. Develop and increase understanding of Talbot's customer. Key partners include Product Management, Merchandising, Fabric and Color teams, Technical Design, and Vendors. Internship Qualifications
Enrolled in an accredited college degree program Interest in career in Accessories Design after college Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop Excellent written and oral communication skills Good time management and attention to detail Program Details
The KnitWell Group Summer Internship Program welcomes the classes of 2025 and 2026 college students to work with several of our brands (Ann Taylor, Lane Bryant, LOFT, Talbots) and Corporate Shared Services to kick-start their career in retail. This immersive experience offers interns the opportunity to work hands-on with their department for 10-weeks and receive professional development opportunities including executive chats, professional workshops, store visits, etc., and participation in a collaborative team project.
The pay rate for the position is $20.00/hr.
KnitWell Group does not offer housing near any of our corporate office locations. Participating students must have the ability to independently secure and finance housing in a commutable distance of the office location.
