Murad seeks a Director of Integrated Marketing Communications to lead PR, influencer marketing, and experiential initiatives that amplify brand awareness and engagement. This role will drive strategic media outreach, build and nurture key influencer and creator relationships, and execute innovative activations that resonate with press, consumers, and retail partners. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the beauty landscape, a pulse on industry trends, and a proven ability to craft compelling brand narratives across multiple channels. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role that requires creativity, strategic thinking, and strong leadership to further elevate Murad’s presence in the market.

The Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) Director will guide the strategy and execution across all communication efforts, including PR, influencer marketing, and experiential activations relating to press, influencers, consumers, and retail support. You’ll act as a key conduit supporting social and digital initiatives and strategize and plan activations that will drive the most buzz, awareness, and engagement, as aligned with brand KPIs and goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Global PR

Oversee all PR efforts for the U.S. and Canada with an external agency to drive consistent press coverage, brand awareness and sales to Murad.com and priority retailers

Cultivate and foster meaningful relationships with beauty, wellness, and related press, exploring affiliate models when possible

Drive media strategy to not only support innovation and core products but to elevate brand positioning

Assess executive and brand business media and speaking opportunities; provide messaging and guidance to participating executives

Serve as Dr. Murad’s liaison for all initiatives relating to press and events, such as appearances, speaking engagements, and interviews, whenever necessary

Manage the development of communication for external partnerships and sponsorships

Provide leadership and advisement on brand communication creation, review, and approval, including event assets, collateral,and consumer responses

Liaise with an international team to strengthen local market launch plans and ensure alignment in messaging and branding is cohesive

Spearhead all brand-to-brand outside partnerships and led the day-to-day execution of such campaigns

Spearhead all philanthropic and sustainability partnerships and led the day-to-day execution of such campaigns

Oversee PR metrics owned by PR + Events Associate Manager to ensure KPIs are being met by campaign targets

Influencer Relations

Spearhead engagement strategy for creators/influencers, including micro/niche + mega/mid-tier creators, as well as celebrity and VIP verticals, to amplify brand buzz-building efforts and contribute to business objectives

Build and maintain thought leadership in the fast-paced creator landscape: educate team on best practices, stay at the forefront of trend & innovation, recommend new brand-relevant strategies with a “test & learn” mentality

Oversee Influencer Manager and support team’s management of creator relationships and paid partnerships, including outreach, day-to-day communications, and content review

Ensure new talent circulation for both earned and paid opportunities through manual discovery and influencer discovery tools on platforms such as Traackr and Tribe

Collaborate on creator/influencer mailers including overseeing mailer themes, promo items, and collateral; liaison with additional consumer engagement team members on logistics and target demos/lists

Oversee creator/influencer activations for brand and product campaigns, ensuring maximum buzz-building, engagement, and advocacy throughout the digital/social sphere

Drive strategic thinking in partnership with the Influencer Manager, from campaign strategy to post-campaign analysis across paid and earned influencers to help inform future marketing efforts

Build & nurture existing creator relationships thinking in partnership with the Influencer Manager through both direct and agency-led partnerships

Monitor metrics to ensure meaningful analysis out of metrics and evolve best practices to advise on overall brand plans and budgets, ensuring leadership positions in creator/influencer KPI rankings

Events

Craft engaging and innovative IRL experiences intended to drive wide-scale awareness for Murad across consumers, press and influencers

Institute an always-on community event strategy intended to strengthen relationships and amplify brand awareness

Collaborate with education and national teams as needed on A+ in-store retailer activations

Lead experiential and production agency RFPs and serve as the primary point of contact to agency partners

Expand and strategize against the brand’s purpose activations

Manage the global PR, influencer, and events budget in partnership with the CMO; liaise with the internal finance team as needed on monthly reconciliation

Stay up to date on trends and industry news within the beauty and beyond; monitor competitors and buzzy brands for learnings, insights, and best practices

Foster a collaborative, positive environment for direct reports, helping them grow professionally, meeting business goals as well as personal development goals

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

:

10+ years of experience in public relations, influencer marketing, and/or integrated communications, ideally within beauty, wellness, or lifestyle

Proven leadership in developing and executing multi-channel brand communications strategies that drive awareness, engagement, and conversion

Strong media relationships within beauty, wellness, and lifestyle press; experience navigating affiliate models a plus

Expertise in influencer and creator partnerships, including strategic outreach, contract negotiation, and content amplification across paid and earned channels

Experience leading large-scale events and experiential activations that generate brand buzz and meaningful consumer engagement

Deep understanding of the evolving digital, social, and influencer landscape, including emerging trends, platforms, and best practices

Experience managing agencies and cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment on brand messaging, KPIs, and campaign execution

Strong analytical skills to assess PR, influencer, and event performance, using data to inform strategy and optimize future initiatives

Budget management experience, ensuring efficient allocation of resources across global PR, influencer, and event activations

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling brand narratives and messaging

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, balancing multiple priorities and deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field

Previous experience in a global brand, with an understanding of international market nuances and best practices

Passion for skincare, wellness, and the broader beauty industry

Experience working with prestige beauty brands and retail partners such as Sephora and Ulta

Familiarity with influencer management tools such as Traackr, Tribe, or similar platforms

The expected base salary for this position is $165,000 to $180,000. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget.
