We are looking for a Director, Social Media to join our growing team! In this role, you will be responsible for the hands-on planning, management and implementation of social-focused client programs. Typically, you will:
  • Be the senior lead representing the social media team for at least 3 core social clients and major projects depending on overall scope of the client engagement
  • Manage assigned projects independently with 1-2 direct reports
  • Participate in new business efforts, whether growing current business or helping to secure new clients
  • Report into a Senior Vice President

This is a hybrid role requiring travel to our Philadelphia, PA office.

You will:

Client Partnership
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with clients and external audiences
  • Develop social strategies based on client goals, defining measurable KPIs and proactively assessing results on an ongoing basis to set benchmarks, inform content strategy and ensure success
  • Proactively direct planning and execution of social media projects ensuring efficiency and high-quality delivery of results
  • Possess skills necessary to handle issues management, mobilizing teams to respond to issues and provide strategically sound recommendations to clients on how to handle/address issues
  • Experience in developing social SOPs/playbooks and establishing channel guidelines
  • Play active role in developing and tracking budgets related to client social media activities, with ability to mentor mid-to-junior level staff on financials
  • Support Global Head of Digital and Head of Social Media in monthly/quarterly forecasting and developing social media staff plans for core clients
  • Be a quality control and final review of social content before client delivery
  • Research, develop, and present new business proposals, gaining more confidence and experience leading new business efforts
  • Identify opportunities for organic account growth by offering new social tactics, ideas and upsell current offering on the account where they are embedded
  • Utilize data to guide agency recommendations and idea generation including social listening and research projects to uncover clear and actionable insights
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of social media strategies and platform nuances across primary social channels - Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn - with working knowledge of YouTube, Pinterest, Snapchat and TikTok


Leadership & Teamwork
  • Serve as a resource to account teams to educate and provide strategic counsel on social and influencer programs
  • Assist in onboarding new specialty team members and account team members to best practices for working with social team
  • Provide direct and constructive feedback to junior team members, supporting them in developing fundamental skills
  • Serve as a role model for junior team members
  • Conduct annual reviews for direct reports (as appropriate) and regular check-ins, overseeing professional development and opportunities for growth and advancement


Effective Communication
  • Play a major part in drafting and providing oversight in development of social media strategies inclusive of those for corporate and unbranded/patient channels
  • Have a knowledge of social media best practices across channels and be able to review social content for consistency, voice, channel nuances, brand/program style and developing analytics reports to report on results
  • Lead aspects of client interactions and liaison with external agency and third-party partners (e.g., vendors, social platform reps, influencers, etc.)
  • Foster and maintain relationships with online influencers and advocates and manages discovery exercises
  • Manage and monitor workflow on accounts, anticipating and flagging staffing issues and offering solutions to EVP


You will bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, digital, business or health/science-related field or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years' communications or related marketing / advocacy / digital / social / health experience, US/global health issues or health product communications experience
  • Confidence in communicating with clients, teams and external stakeholders
  • Solid client relationship building and presentation skills
  • Attitude that lends itself to quality client service
  • Experience successfully managing resources and budgets
  • Experience in social media and influencer engagement
  • Ability to proactively seek solutions to challenges
  • Knowledge of FDA social media guidelines and FTC influencer guidelines
  • Working knowledge of paid social media strategies and capabilities
  • Familiarity with Netbase or similar social listening platform

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. This range may differ based on your experience and skill set, geographic location, and cost of living considerations. We consider compensation more than just a base salary - that's why we also offer an exceptional range of flexible benefits, personal support and tailored learning and development opportunities all designed to help you realize your full potential both in life and at work.

Compensation

$110,000-$140,000 USD
