Honeywell is seeking a SeniorDirector, Internal Communications, reporting to the Vice President,Human Resources & Communications, for Honeywell Energy andSustainability Solutions (ESS) based in Charlotte, NC. Thisis an exciting opportunity for a senior leader who wants to be at the heart ofHoneywell's transformation, the establishment of an enhanced performanceculture, diversity hiring, and key elements of Honeywell's brand!
This individual will lead the development and execution ofglobal internal communication strategies to drive employeeengagement and alignment with the Company's direction. The individual willcoordinate an agenda across the ESS business units andregions, facilitating cross-business planning and holding allgroups to common processes and metrics along with high quality standards. Theindividual will also participate in the long-term management of public affairsissues that affect the business, working in close partnershipwith External Communications, CustomerMarketing and Government Relations.
Storytelling experience and prowess is a must as thisindividual will help guide efforts to consistently develop creative,compelling, and human-focused content that connects Honeywell employees witheach other, leaders, and the company's strategic initiatives. Fluency in andpassion for analytics is also imperative as we seek to measure and interpretdata that help us enhance our communication practices across the company.
The ideal candidate will be aconfident, self-sufficient leader with a minimum of 10 years ofprogressively responsible experience leading organizations, with outstandingexecutive presence and business acumen, a strong process orientation, andthe ability to coach, develop and lead a team while influencing a larger globalorganization. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills arerequired, verbal and written, with ability to communicate effectivelywith a variety of groups and individuals. The candidate must have extraordinaryability to work well with people at all levels, especially senior leaders,and demonstrated competence in a high-performance environment, with experienceworking with business leaders and Communications leaders inmultiple regions.
The individual must have the highest personalintegrity and a strong personal commitment to diversity. Should becomfortable working in gray areas and be able to effectively handle pressuresand demands from multiple clients and competing priorities. Responsibilities include:
- Develop and leadEES's overall internal communications planning and strategies insupport of employee engagement and the positioning of Honeywell as aleading energy and sustainability company
- Support ESS'sbiggest initiatives, organization transitions, leadership changes,and other transformation steps through innovative andeffective communication plans that address the needs of variedaudiences and stakeholders
- Drive performanceand provide coaching and leadership ESS Communications team to ensurethe communications function meets and exceeds expectations
- Raise the bar onemployee messaging around benefits and the employee valueproposition create messages that are simple, visually compelling andreadily understood by our global audiences
- Lead executivecommunications in support of the President and CEO of ESS and thefunctional leaders on his staff and quarterly global town meetings
- Work closely withthe External Communications, CustomerMarketing and Government Relations teams to promote the SPSbrand and its offerings, and to manage public affairs issues over thelong term
- Support ongoingpublication of news about ESS, employee achievements, and explanation ofinitiatives and priorities on Honeywell's key internal and external newschannels
YOU MUST HAVE:
- 15+years of demonstrated successful experience in communications in acorporate or an agency environment
WE VALUE:
- A bachelor's degree in journalism or communications
- Internalcommunication experience in a corporate or an agency environment
- The abilityto think strategically and provide communications counselto senior leadership, and lead the development of communicationstrategies and plans to drive results
- Expert-level storytelling skillsand grammatical writing skills, with ability to quickly develop clear,concise messages
- Excellent andruthless editing skills. A willingness to be hands-onwith writing and editing to get the job done effectively
