Austin, TX (Remote until office opens, some travel required)
$70,000 - $120,000 (Based on experience + potential performance bonuses)

Reports To: Marketing Director
Direct Reports: Social Media Assistants, YouTube Content Strategist
Team Size: Around 15

Position Overview

We're looking for a Head of Influencer & Social Strategy with deep DTC e-commerce experience to drive our organic social media, influencer marketing, and brand collaboration efforts.

This is a high-impact leadership role where you'll shape and execute a strategy that builds brand awareness, drives engagement, and increases revenue through influencer-driven marketing and strategic partnerships.

  • This position is remote for now but will transition to onsite in Austin once the office opens. Some travel is required.

You'll lead a team of 15, including Social Media Assistants and a YouTube Content Strategist, overseeing all organic social initiatives across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and emerging platforms. Key Responsibilities

Organic Social Media Strategy & Execution
  • Develop and execute a data-driven organic social media strategy aligned with DTC e-commerce growth goals.
  • Oversee content ideation, creation, and publishing across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, and Pinterest.
  • Manage community engagement, ensuring high-quality interactions and rapid response times.
  • Leverage UGC (user-generated content) and brand storytelling to build authenticity and trust.
  • Identify and capitalize on trends, viral moments, and cultural conversations to maximize organic reach.
  • Collaborate with email, SMS, paid media, and product teams to ensure cohesive messaging and repurposing of top-performing content.
  • Mentor and manage Social Media Assistants, ensuring strong execution across all platforms.
Influencer, Affiliate & Ambassador Marketing
  • Build and scale a high-performing influencer, affiliate, and ambassador marketing program that drives sales.
  • Identify, recruit, and manage influencers, affiliates, and brand ambassadors who align with the brand.
  • Negotiate partnerships, oversee contracts, and track performance metrics to optimize results.
  • Develop and execute UGC-driven campaigns, leveraging influencer content for both organic and paid marketing.
  • Track influencer ROI and revenue impact, optimizing for maximum conversion.
Strategic Brand Partnerships & Collaborations
  • Identify and execute brand-to-brand collaborations, giveaways, and co-branded activations to expand reach.
  • Build strategic relationships with complementary DTC brands, media partners, and influencers.
  • Lead cross-promotional campaigns and brand activations that align with audience interests and brand positioning.
Content & Community Growth Strategy
  • Develop a DTC-focused content strategy that drives engagement, conversions, and customer loyalty.
  • Utilize short-form video content (TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts) to boost organic visibility.
  • Execute social-first brand campaigns, live shopping events, and interactive activations.
  • Launch and manage exclusive brand communities (Facebook Groups, Discord, VIP memberships) to foster deep customer engagement.
Performance Tracking, Optimization & Innovation
  • Own all social media and influencer marketing KPIs, including engagement, follower growth, and influencer-driven revenue.
  • Use analytics tools (Emplifi, Sprout Social, Google Analytics, Shopify, TikTok Creator Marketplace, GRIN) to track and optimize performance.
  • A/B test content formats, influencer campaigns, and partnership activations to maximize effectiveness.
  • Stay ahead of social media trends, platform updates, and emerging industry innovations.
  • Provide actionable insights and reporting to leadership on performance and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3-5+ years of experience in social media management, influencer/affiliate marketing, and brand partnerships for a DTC e-commerce brand or agency specializing in DTC.
  • Proven track record of growing DTC social media engagement and influencer-driven revenue.
  • Experience negotiating, securing, and managing brand collaborations, sponsorships, and partnerships.
  • Deep understanding of DTC brand positioning, customer engagement strategies, and community-driven growth.
  • Strong expertise in TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and emerging social platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with influencer marketing platforms (e.g., GRIN, Upfluence, AspireIQ, TikTok Creator Marketplace).
  • Strong leadership and team management experience, with the ability to oversee a 15-person team.
  • Data-driven mindset with a focus on performance tracking, campaign optimization, and ROI measurement.

Must-Haves

  • DTC e-commerce expertise – Strong understanding of social media's role in driving direct-to-consumer sales.
  • Proven leadership – Ability to lead and scale a team of 15.
  • Influencer & brand partnership experience – Skilled in negotiating and managing high-impact collaborations.
  • Content & community strategy – Experience in growing and engaging social communities.
  • Austin-based – Candidates must be located in Austin, TX, and open to transitioning to onsite when the office is established.
