ASRC Federal is looking for a Senior Video Teleconferencing Technician responsible for supporting the organization's video conferencing and IT asset management needs. This includes administering and managing VTC systems, WebEx, Zoom Gov, Teams (or equivalent), and asset tracking. The technician will evaluate new technologies, perform project management, prepare necessary documentation, and provide administrative support for the customer's Travel System. Additionally, the role involves supporting web conferences, maintaining video conference facilities, and performing asset management tasks using the Sunflower system. The technician will also be responsible for setting up and troubleshooting audio/visual equipment, managing equipment inventory, coordinating with vendors for repairs, and providing technical training to end users. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in managing complex IT assignments, leading technology projects, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Video Conferencing and IT Asset Management:
- Support video teleconferencing (VTC) systems, WebEx, ZoomGov, Teams (or equivalent), and asset management.
- Provide the required administrative and managerial resources for VTC systems and travel support.
- Evaluate existing and new technologies and solutions based on business requirements.
- Perform project management to plan, organize, and control resources to achieve project goals.
- Prepare documentation, including functional requirements, system design, system test plans, user manuals, system maintenance documentation, configuration management plans, and security plans.
- Provide administrative support for the customer's Travel System, including account creations/deletions, resetting passwords, assistingwith travel vouchers and authorizations, routing codes, and general customer support.
- Modify, control, and keep current the customer's Outlook Distribution Lists.
- Provide administrative support and assistance in setting up WebEx, Teams, ZoomGov web conferences or equivalent.
- Assist with operations, documentation, and maintenance support for video conference facilities in two geographic areas.
- Schedule point-to-point conferences, virtual meetings, maintain video conference statistics, and make recommendations for improving usability.
- Provide in-person support for specific video conferences.
- Assist with custom VTC room support, configuration upgrades, installation, operation, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance.
- Conduct an annual inventory of all VTC rooms and support touchpad-controlled, complex VTC rooms with multi displays.
Asset Management:
- Track the location and movement of all hardware using the Sunflower system, the official asset tracking database.
- Store hardware properly, prepare inventory exit packages, distribute hardware as directed, track hardware movement, and remove obsolete hardware from inventory.
- Verify that inventory records are complete and accurate, excess inventory as directed and assist in conducting bi-annual physical inventory.
- Analyze and research asset discrepancies found in the annual inventory and reconcile/document discrepancies.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Provide a weekly report of accomplishments, activities, issues, and recommendations.
- Provide a Quarterly Mobile Device Report Analysis, including zero usage, transfers, and departing employees.
Meeting and Event Support:
- Assist with setting up and facilitating Teams, Zoom, and WebEx meetings and events.
- Provide in-meeting troubleshooting and problem-solving support.
- Communicate concerns and solutions through the internal team.
- Handle and protect confidential information.
- Set up conference rooms/systems as needed for meetings.
- Book and manage connections for meetings.
- Create and maintain processes and procedures.
- Perform checks on all conference rooms to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform basic repairs in conference rooms, including connector and terminations, cable replacements, and equipment replacements.
- Escalate facilities and other issues to responsible providers.
- Train new team members as needed.
- Manage and track equipment inventory.
- Serve as the focal point for video conferencing support.
- Gather requirements and use cases for meetings and live events.
- Set up equipment for events, including microphones, speakers, video screens, projectors, monitors, and cables.
- Work with vendors to ensure up-to-date technical system documentation and support system upgrades.
- Coordinate equipment repairs and replacements with vendors.
- Provide technical assistance and training for custom audio/visual room configurations to end users.
Qualifications:
- Possesses and applies expertise across key tasks and high-impact assignments.
- Plans and leads major technology assignments.
- Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.
- Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
- May supervise others.
- Must possess at least 10 years of relevant work experience and a bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a related field.
- A postgraduate degree from an accredited university may substitute for 6 years of experience.
- One year of relevant experience may be substituted for one year of required education.
- Successful candidate is subject to a background investigation by the government and must be able to meet the requirements to hold a position of public trust.
