Formative is seeking a contract Manager with a passion for digital marketing and strategy with a background in account management, communications and editorial content management. This role will support the development of major client strategy, marketing and program development initiatives on a part-time contract basis. We expect there to be 25 hours of work per week but may flex upwards of 30 hours on occasion. This is a six-month contract opportunity for two core projects with the possibility of contract extension or full-time employment after the end of the initial contract. Who We're Looking For This role will help lead day-to-day marketing and communications support for a portfolio of clients within global health, climate and Health and Life Sciences. We are looking for a team member who is endlessly curious about social impact topics and creative ways to engage audiences. This person is a strategy minded communications expert who can leverage audience insights to sharpen comms, channel, and editorial strategy. This is a teammate who will be an editorial advisor and problem solver, willing contributor in team settings, a strong driver of process, and gets excited about generating content and channel storytelling that fuels solutions to big challenges. Projects may flex from pushing the limits of short form/long copy on social channels, to exploring new ways to tell stories to diverse audiences through videos and other digital formats. A person successful in this role will have strong stakeholder management skills to meet long-term client goals and shorter-term project objectives. Requirements Experience Minimum 6 years' marketing or communications experience, journalism experience or major preferred. Minimum 5-7 years experience leading high volume client engagements Previous work in a Health and Life Science field is preferred but not required. Experience in content strategy, editorial planning, and content development (i.e. writing/editing social posts, etc.). Knowledge of multichannel marketing (social, web, email, paid), understanding what makes each channel unique and how to engage audiences in each platform. Experience analyzing and interpreting complex marketing data to uncover and clearly communicate actionable insights that inform strategic decisions and drive measurable outcomes. Successful account management and stakeholder communication across a range of senior, peer and junior internal team and client audiences. Track record of quickly building subject matter experience with enough context and credibility to understand client's business and research domain. Skills Client relationship management: working with clients to communicate recommendations, articulate options, review deliverables, and incorporate feedback to continue driving work forward. Strong critical thinking skills: ability to break down an ambiguous problem, develop an approach, and execute. Integrated campaign thinking across channel disciplines: organic social, PR, paid media, social media, creators, bespoke content. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including competency with PowerPoint and Excel (analysis and visualization). Comfortable reporting on analytics across the platforms mentioned above, with the ability to communicate insights and drive strategic recommendations. A focus on driving work forward: working with junior and senior colleagues and managing workflows, deliverables, and budgets to ensure on time delivery with high quality. Responsibilities Develop content strategies and editorial plans for multi-channel campaigns and programs. Provide consultative guidance to internal teams on content and storytelling as needed. Partner with others as a subject matter expert vs. project owner. Develop test/learn roadmaps for content optimization and to guide editorial strategy. Work cooperatively and collaboratively with internal and external teams. Additional responsibilities as client and business needs arise. Drive communications strategy to meet audience priorities and project objectives. Supervise execution of weekly, monthly and event-driven communications activities: content development, including close collaboration and/or supporting copy writing and creative asset development, and ensuring cohesive strategic vision from conceptualization through execution. Support team efforts to manage workstreams to projected scope. Account management in a consultative role including working directly with clients and partners (much more senior and much more junior), answering hard questions with context and clarity. Student of frequent platform updates and changes, channel and content trends. Work Location This opportunity is located in Seattle, WA.
