With expertise in cellular and molecular biology, selective breeding, genomics, and biotechnology, CAT delivers research-based solutions tailored to meet the unique challenges of the aquaculture industry. Their state-of-the-art facilities include advanced laboratories for genome editing and genotyping, as well as recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) designed to improve research efficiency and ensure animal welfare. From 2022-2024, CAT expanded its capabilities by opening the Shrimp Genetics Innovation Center and expanding the Finfish Genetics Lab and the Genotyping Lab, featuring cutting-edge genome editing lab space, expanded tank space, and effectively quadrupling research capacity. This investment underscores CAT's commitment to delivering impactful genetic solutions to the industry.

For over a decade, CAT has been a trusted partner to clients worldwide, offering customized services to support genetic innovation and product development across various aquatic species, including salmon, tilapia, shrimp and oysters.

CAT has the technology and expertise to become a $100-million entity respected for the positive impact it is having on the industry, the environment and food security. With this objective in mind, the company has made the strategic decision to launch a search for a Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Senior Vice President, Global Sales & Marketing will play a pivotal role in advancing CAT’s mission by increasing the customer base revenue and strengthening the company’s market position globally. The SVP will be responsible for developing and executing a measurable sales and marketing strategy that leverages CAT’s innovative genetic services and technical expertise. Expanding the significant committed client base that understands and values CAT’s unique value-sharing model while ensuring alignment with CAT’s commitment to innovation, sustainability and client success will be core to success.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned, disciplined sales and marketing executive with expertise in aquaculture, biotechnology, or a related field. They have a strong understanding of genetic technologies and biotechnological applications, paired with the strategic acumen to develop and execute highly effective go-to-market strategies and the ability to recruit and mentor a high-performance sales and marketing team. Known for building lasting client relationships and inking long-term service contracts, they excel in contract negotiation, budget management and presenting data-driven business cases to the executive, scientific and operations teams. With experience serving a global client base and a willingness to travel extensively, the selected candidate will be well-equipped to lead CAT’s growth and drive its mission forward.

The successful candidate can reside anywhere in the world as long as they are committed to travelling to San Diego and becoming integrated with the team as well as their functional travel.
