Purpose

The primary purpose of this position is to support the daily workflow within the graphics finishing department – assisting in project preparation, workflow, and proper delivery. Typical projects include theatrical teasers, trailers, and TV spots, as well as network and streaming service promos.

Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, proactive, quick-thinking, flexible, thorough, responsible, and able to juggle many tasks at once with a strong emphasis on organization and an unwavering attention to detail at all times. This is a very demanding position that requires someone who is an effective communicator, positive thinker, and is able to show good judgment and initiative in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Project preparation for thorough and accurate hand-off to finishing producers.
  • Keep watch on all client emails, flagging to graphics producers.
  • Keep watch on internal Slack channel finishing questions, flagging to graphics producers.
  • Answer internal graphics producing team questions regarding finished files.
  • Work with graphics finishing producers, input and maintain work orders/graphics requests in Filemaker.
  • Track status of all finishing projects and requests, assist producers in prioritizing under ever-changing needs.
  • Anticipate project or resource conflicts and provide thoughtful solutions to Head of Design and resource coordinator.
  • Check in with artists to track updates and share status information with finishing producers.
  • Provide an additional level of quality control and ensure all graphics are delivered on time and to requested specifications (spelling, style, color, resolution, file format, length, etc.).
  • Update all finished graphics on editorial server.
  • Check in with in-house producers for evening needs, wait for ‘all clear’ to leave, and request artists to stay, as directed by finishing producer.

Required Skills

  • A/V trailer and television/streaming graphic finishing experience is a must.
  • Knowledge of graphics post delivery specs and nomenclature (frame rates, aspect ratios, social media reformat, resolutions, common image codecs/filetypes).
  • Knowledge of graphics terminology is helpful (keyable, mattes, checkers, etc.).
  • Takes the initiative to learn new hardware and software as needed.
  • Must be detail-oriented with a commitment to quality control.
  • Must be able to quickly pick up on workflows and procedures.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work quickly and efficiently in a high-energy environment.
  • Resourceful self-starter with ability to work independently and know when to slow down.
  • Ability to take direction and effectively multitask and prioritize under tight deadlines with stellar follow-up and follow-through.
  • Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule including overtime and occasional weekend work with little to no notice.

Pay Range

Starts at $24.
