OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY
Fox TV Stations FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Producer showcases compelling content to engage viewers. They are responsible for writing interesting, accurate stories, building graphics, and some editing of video. The producer is also responsible for leading the crew through live broadcasts in the control room and timing the show. A successful candidate must thoroughly understand journalistic standards and broadcast production techniques used to create linear and digital content. They must demonstrate strong writing and communication skills.
The Producer must be able to write clear, compelling, and accurate stories for broadcast and linear. They must organize news stories for broadcast in a logical and interesting pattern that keeps viewers engaged. They must demonstrate strong writing skills, solid news judgment, and an understanding of what makes good newscasts that will keep our community tuning in. The Producer must be able to work in a busy environment, ready to react to change—especially during breaking news. Candidates must be able to accept feedback and be willing to learn new techniques and technology. The Producer must demonstrate leadership and understand the importance of a team and family mentality in the workforce.
A bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field is required. Experience as a News Writer or News Producer in a medium to large market is considered a major plus. Working knowledge of Metro Detroit’s history and geography is also considered a major plus.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with the final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location, is $25.00 per hour. We provide medical/dental/vision insurance and 401k after they meet eligibility criteria and any State required time-off, in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
