Location: Metro Detroit (Hybrid – Remote and In-Person as Needed)

Position Summary:
We are hiring a Marketing & Public Relations Specialist to promote and drive attendance to in-person career workshops held throughout Metro Detroit. This is a performance-based opportunity—ideal for individuals who are influential in their community, have experience in public engagement, and understand grassroots marketing strategies.
You will be compensated based on the number of attendees you successfully generate for each workshop.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement marketing campaigns to promote upcoming career workshops
Use social media, email, text messaging, and community outreach to drive registrations
Build relationships with churches, community groups, schools, and workforce agencies to promote programs
Distribute flyers, make public announcements, and attend events to generate awareness
Track and report the number of attendees recruited per workshop
Assist with day-of event check-in or welcome remarks (optional)
Ensure all promotional efforts reflect the mission of Hired In Michigan
Qualifications:
Previous experience in marketing, community outreach, public relations, or event promotion
Strong communication and networking skills
Ability to independently plan and execute local campaigns
Comfortable working with diverse populations and attending community events
Must be based in Metro Detroit with reliable transportation
Self-motivated and goal-oriented
Familiarity with digital marketing tools (social media, Canva, Mailchimp, Eventbrite) is a plus
Compensation Model:
Paid per verified attendee that you recruit for each workshop
Bonuses available for exceeding target attendance goals
No cap on earnings – the more attendees you bring, the more you earn
Ideal for community advocates, public speakers, college recruiters, and grassroots marketers
Ideal Candidates Include:
Community influencers and social connectors
College students in marketing, communications, or nonprofit leadership
Retired educators or public speakers
Church outreach or workforce agency partners
