Algiers Charter is seeking a highly creative and self-motivated individual to join the team as the Digital and Visual Media Manager. This multifaceted position blends social media management with graphic design to produce compelling content across various digital platforms. The Digital and Visual Media Manager will help elevate Algiers Charter School Association's (ACSA) presence online, creating measurable engagement and strengthening brand recognition. The ideal candidate should have a keen visual sensibility, a strong passion for storytelling, and the ability to craft effective social media campaigns. The Digital and Visual Media Manager will report directly to the Communications Director, providing regular updates on social media performance, campaign results, and strategy development.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Social Media Management:

  1. Collaborate with the Communications Director to develop and execute comprehensive digital strategies across platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn.
  2. Design and implement data-driven campaigns that boost community engagement and amplify ACSA’s mission and goals.
  3. Lead digital storytelling initiatives that showcase student achievements, educational innovations, and district excellence across multiple platforms.
  4. Create and manage monthly content calendars that incorporate a mix of images, videos, graphics, and written content.
  5. Schedule posts and maintain a consistent social media presence based on the editorial calendar.
  6. Engage with followers through comments, direct messages, and other social media interactions.
  7. Analyze performance metrics and provide monthly reports to assess content effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.
  8. Stay updated on social media trends and innovations, integrating them into content creation and strategy.
  9. Attend special events to capture content for promotional use, including after-school programs and other activities.
  10. Manage and create dynamic content for the website and social media channels, utilizing digital tools.
  11. Organize and maintain a digital image library for easy access.

Graphic Design:

  1. Develop and design compelling visual content for advertising, web development, brochures, and other forms of visual communication.
  2. Create graphics, photography, and multimedia elements that reinforce ACSA’s branding and engage stakeholders.
  3. Collaborate with freelance designers, photographers, and videographers to produce content for campaigns.
  4. Design a range of materials for web, print, and social media platforms to boost brand awareness.
  5. Work closely with the Director of Communications on targeted messaging, e-newsletters, and web/social media designs.
  6. Coordinate with external vendors for projects requiring printing.
  7. Assist in organizing photoshoots to capture content for digital channels.
  8. Maintain strict adherence to student privacy and media release protocols for all digital content.
  9. Build and maintain relationships with school principals and student organizations to highlight achievements and activities.
  10. Partner with parent organizations to showcase community involvement and student success stories.
  11. Respond to urgent communication needs and support crisis communication efforts as necessary.
  12. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  2. 2+ years of experience in social media marketing.
  3. 2+ years of experience in graphic design and visual communication.
  4. Proven experience in social media management or a related field is preferred.
  5. Proficiency in social media management and graphic design tools (Adobe Suite, Canva, InShot/CapCut, Sprout Social).
  6. Strong understanding of social media analytics and performance metrics.
  7. Experience with graphic design and photo/video editing software to produce high-quality content.
  8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  9. Strong strategic thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
  10. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  11. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with colleagues, school community members, and external partners.
  12. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Comfort with traveling between school sites during the workday.
