HJF is seeking a Manager, Digital Communications to develop strategies and implement tactics to expand HJF's outreach and digital presence. This position will research, design and create social media and digital outreach tools as well as develop ways to connect online with a variety of audiences.

This position will be in support of the Department of Medicine at USUHS in Bethesda, Maryland.

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.

The site background requirement for this position requires that you have lived in the US for three out of the past five years.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and project manage new and creative digital outreach and marketing campaigns for HJF and, potentially, for its customers Maintain lists of publication citations for internal reporting and public website, and compile schedules of conference participation through publication tracking process.
  • Plan, implement and maintain social media and digital outreach strategy and tactics for HJF initiatives, events, and other communication efforts.
  • Create, curate, and manage online content via HJF-owned digital assets, including websites.
  • Track and report metrics to measure and improve outreach efforts through surveys and other tools.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Assigned Lead: May recommend the following: employee hiring, disciplinary action, and starting salaries; provide input on employee performance evaluations.

Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree required. Preferably in Media, Journalism, Digital Marketing, Public Relations or related field.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years' experience required.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Solid understanding of SEO and content marketing.
  • Customer-service mindset and excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
  • Proven writing experience.
  • Ability to identify new digital outlets.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a T1 Public Trust.

Work Environment
  • This position will take place primarily in an office setting.

Compensation
  • The annual salary range for this position is $88,600-$115,000. Actual salary will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
