Cybersecurity Dive seeks an experienced senior reporter to provide timely, insightful reporting to serve executives in the cybersecurity industry. This role includes enterprise reporting and in-depth stories analyzing the trends and issues affecting cybersecurity executives, and reporting on cybersecurity news that affects business continuity. The senior reporter will also work with the Cybersecurity Dive reporting team to conceive and execute bigger editorial projects. Cybersecurity Dive is a publication that primarily serves the role of the CISO and other high-level cybersecurity decision-makers. The senior reporter will support the team's mission through subject matter expertise in the various areas of cybersecurity, owning their beats, pitching ideas, and pursuing ambitious stories based on source building, keen observations and industry knowledge. Successful candidates will chase down scoops, juggle daily and longer-term deadlines, and develop and write stories that capture the impact of cyber threats, technology, and regulatory trends in cybersecurity on enterprises. The ideal candidate will be a strong writer and reporter with solid communications and teamwork skills. This position will report directly to the head of Informa TechTarget's Cybersecurity Media Group and will collaborate with other cybersecurity brands in that group on broader editorial content planning and projects. What you’ll do: Regularly write high-impact stories that lead our coverage, with a focus on subject matter expertise, sourcing, and a writing voice that engages cybersecurity executives. You will monitor your beat, regularly pitch stories, cultivate relationships with diverse stakeholders and hunt down scoops. Help assign and edit stories written by other Cybersecurity Dive reporters and contributors, produce Cybersecurity Dive daily newsletters. Qualifications
What can you bring to the table: An interest in issues that most concern CISOs, including technology disruption, the changing cyber threat landscape, workforce, and executive career growth. Ability to interpret and analyze complex cyber threat trends, regulatory developments, technology shifts, and leadership responsibility, that connects the dots for CISOs. Ability to quickly take ownership of specific beats through original reporting and building relationships with important and diverse sources. Possesses a working knowledge of digital publishing key performance indicators (KPIs) and how to maximize reporting impact with a highly selective executive audience. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced news environment; deadline-oriented time management skills and ability to turn around stories on tight deadlines. Experience writing web headlines and editing copy. Familiarity with newsletter publishing operations and objectives. Bachelor's degree or better in journalism, English or related field. 10+ years experience, with at least 5 years of experience in cybersecurity journalism.
