POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Communication Specialist to join our dynamic communications team. As a Junior Communication Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the development and execution of communication strategies and campaigns across multiple channels. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative individual to gain hands-on experience in the field of communications while contributing to the growth of our brand.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Content Creation: Assist in drafting and editing content for various communication materials, including press releases, blogs, social media posts, internal newsletters, and email campaigns.

  • Social Media Management: Support the management of the organization's social media accounts, including content scheduling, engagement, and monitoring trends or mentions across platforms.

  • Media Relations Support: Assist with drafting media pitches, tracking media coverage, and maintaining media lists to help enhance the organization's visibility and engagement.

  • Internal Communications: Support the creation of internal communications materials to keep employees informed, engaged, and aligned with the organization's goals, such as newsletters, announcements, and updates.

  • Research & Reporting: Conduct research on industry trends, competitor communications, and audience insights to help inform strategies. Assist in tracking and reporting on the performance of communication campaigns.

  • Event Coordination: Help organize and promote internal and external events, ensuring proper communication materials are created and distributed in advance.

  • Brand Consistency: Ensure that all communications align with the organization's brand voice and messaging, maintaining a consistent tone across all channels.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Secret Clearance required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in communication, marketing, or public relations (internships or entry-level positions are welcome).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of social media platforms and digital communication tools.
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), email marketing platforms, and analytics tools is a plus.
  • Ability to work well under deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) or video editing software is a plus.
  • Familiarity with SEO practices and content optimization strategies.
