ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
SUMMARY : The Student Social Media Assistant supports Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises (CPPE) Marketing Department's social media and campus outreach initiatives. The ideal candidate is highly creative with strong communication skills, capable of engaging the campus community through both digital and in-person channels to promote CPPE units. These include, but are not limited to, the Bronco Bookstore, Dining Services, Kellogg West Hotel & Conference Center, Kellogg House and University Village Housing. This is an in-office position.
SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety): Assist in creating, scheduling, and managing content for CPPE's social media platforms. Execute outreach initiatives, including tabling events, promotional activities, and campus engagement. Engage with social media followers, respond to comments/messages, and monitor trends. Capture photos and videos at campus events, CPPE locations, and student activities for use on social media. Analyze social media performance metrics and provide insights for improving engagement. Perform other duties as assigned to support the marketing team. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be enrolled as a full-time student at Cal Poly Pomona. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience with creating engaging content on social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.). Basic photography and videography skills to capture and edit content for social media. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Willingness to participate in on-campus events and interact with students and staff. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Studying marketing, communications, or related field. Experience working in a university club, department or organization. Prior experience in marketing, communications, or campus outreach. Knowledge of CPPE services and Cal Poly Pomona campus life.
ABOUT US : As the largest employer of students on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, the Foundation offers valuable work experience and hands-on training to approximately 1,500 Cal Poly Pomona students each year. The Foundation offers positions in various fields; whether it is in the area of technology, science, retail, culinary arts, hospitality1500 management, leadership or research grants, these student employees participate in Cal Poly Pomona's learn-by-doing philosophy and acquire practical skills in their designated field of study.
The Foundation also contributes operating support to nearly 1,100 Foundation and scholarship programs every year, including Bronco Athletics and the Norman J. Priest Scholarship. In addition, the Foundation administers grants and contracts, contributes to campus security, and supports several university publications. The Foundation contributes over $1 million annually to Cal Poly Pomona.
