Job Description

Job Title: Unity Animator

Fully Remote - Six Month Project with possible extension

Mobile/Tablet animation experience

Experience working with programs for Children

Key Responsibilities of a Unity Animator:

Animation Creation:

  • Design and create high-quality animations for characters, including walking, running, jumping, attacking, idle poses, facial expressions, and other necessary actions.
  • Utilize motion capture data or hand-key animation techniques to achieve desired movement quality.
  • Optimize animations for performance within the game engine.

Animator Controller Setup:

  • Build complex state machine animations using Unity's Animator Controller to manage transitions between different animation states based on game logic and player input.
  • Set up triggers and parameters within the Animator Controller to dynamically control animation playback.
  • Work closely with character artists to ensure animations align with the visual design of characters and environments.
  • Collaborate with game designers to implement gameplay mechanics through animation.
  • Communicate animation needs and provide feedback to other team members.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

Proficient in Unity Animation System: Deep understanding of the Unity Animator component, state machines, transitions, and animation blending techniques.

3D Animation Skills: Strong foundation in 3D animation principles, including keyframing, timing, weight distribution, and character articulation.

Artistic Vision: Ability to translate design concepts into compelling and expressive animations.

Technical Skills: Knowledge of animation optimization techniques to maintain performance in real-time gaming environments.
