Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort and Casino Position Title: Graphic Designer
Reports to: Marketing Manager
Summary of Position:
The Graphic Designer will create and produce layouts, graphic designs, and marketing materials. This includes visual communication media such as books, periodicals, television, electronic media, and packaging pieces from the marketing department (posters, duratrans, e-posters, Janus displays, Speed Media, mailers, newsletters, etc.). The role involves organizing work for ease of distribution on internal and external servers, adhering to established procedures for creating, submitting, and archiving design files, and using job packets to track work performed. The designer will also assist with special events, promotions, or concerts as needed and undertake other special projects and duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must have strong command of the English language as well as the ability to proofread and change spelling and grammar where needed.
- Consult with the supervisor to evaluate individual project requirements
- Prepare illustrations or rough sketches according to project specifications
- Study illustrations, photographs, and text to plan layouts
- Determine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, select style and size of type, and create sample layouts.
- Ensure work conforms to the Inn of the Mountain Gods Branding Standards
- Prepare layout proofs for supervisor approval
- Create finished layouts and prepare instructions for final production
- Check proofs and review the quality of the final product before distribution
- Maintain image resource library
- Train new art staff and maintain standards for design file creation, submission, and archiving
- Obtain and maintain a gaming license
- Work independently and in group settings, participate in brainstorming sessions and solo projects
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
- Proficiency with major industry software and ability to contribute conceptually to the design process
- Working knowledge of Macintosh computers and popular graphics industry software (Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).
- Ability to maximize input and output devices such as printers, cameras, and other peripherals
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of one year experience in Casino Marketing, Gaming, or Casino Services
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite
- Basic knowledge of office equipment, printers, fax, and finishing techniques
- Experience with print workstations, Fiery, and Creo
Physical Demands:
- Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and speak for long periods
- Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Noise level may be loud at times
- Exposure to a second-hand smoke-filled environment
