SPIN Global is a Maryland-based public benefit corporation that exists to disrupt disasters from neighborhoods to nations. We are seeking qualified applicants to build a deployment-ready cadre, prepared to support response operations as opportunities arise. Applicants must possess a FEMA Entry on Duty (EOD).

Responsibilities

  1. Create, review, and edit technical documents related to disaster fieldwork or specialized fields of expertise.
  2. Exceptional communication and documentation skills to ensure the clarity and accuracy of complex information.
  3. Collaborate with subject matter experts and project teams to develop comprehensive documentation and reports.

Requirements

  1. Education and Experience:
    1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study and at least 5 years of experience in disaster fieldwork or technical writing.
    2. Graduate-level degree or professional registration with at least 2 years of experience in disaster fieldwork or technical writing is preferred.
    3. Alternatively, 10 years of experience in disaster fieldwork or a related field of expertise.
  2. Proficiency in desktop publishing, multimedia production, and online documentation tools.
  3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to respond to changing guidance, priorities, and processes.
  4. FEMA Training Preferred:
    1. IS-1000: Public Assistance Program and Eligibility
    2. IS-1001: The Public Assistance Delivery Model Orientation
    3. IS-1002: FEMA Grants Portal - Transparency at Every Step
    4. IS-1004: The FEMA Site Inspection Process
    5. IS-1018: Determination Memorandums and Appeals
    6. 7116: Program Delivery Manager
    7. 7117: Site Inspection.
  5. Work onsite in North Carolina.
  6. EOD Required.
