Purpose of Position

The Sr. Website Content Specialist will oversee the creation, management and optimization of content across the university's website. This position will develop and implement content strategies and collaborate with university web editors on a regular basis to ensure the university's website is current, easy to navigate and is accessible to anyone.

In addition, they will ensure NKU's online presence is consistent, follows the University brand and website standards and aligned with NKU's strategic framework. This position will also support the development and launch of new web and digital initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

Create and publish web content according to established timelines with proper communication with key stakeholders. Develop and manage content strategies that align with university mission, strategies, objectives and brand guidelines. Regularly review the editorial calendar for content updates to the website, seeking input from stakeholders and ensuring timely publication. Collaborate with graphic designers to create optimal user experiences.

Manage collaborative relationships with various internal stakeholders, content authors and web editors to ensure the website is updated on a regular basis and complies with Northern Kentucky University, Commonwealth of Kentucky and federal laws, rules, regulations, guidelines and procedures. Provide best practice guidance to the university community who manage website content.

Provide front-end web development support creating user-friendly, visually appealing web pages that are free of errors, feature straightforward navigation and support industry best practices. Properly test and troubleshoot web pages on various platforms and browsers. Provide direction to web editors on CMS technologies, best practices and web standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in appropriate field required; minimum of at least five years of experience in content management.

Outstanding communication skills, including editing and writing; experience with writing, editing, and crafting content for use in digital media, specifically in website, app and other online experiences.

Knowledge of, and experience in, using and applying information and communication technology tools for web development, database/information management, and content management; experience with the following is ideal: Adobe Experience Manager, Google Analytics, and mobile apps.

Technical skills and experience with the latest software applications used for web and digital communications.

Knowledge of analytics, how to relay that information to stakeholders and leadership, and use data to inform decision making; experience leveraging analytics tools with platforms such as Google Analytics, SEMRush, Monsido, Tockify, etc.

Depth of knowledge regarding higher education is a plus.

Must have the ability to travel and work nights if required for specific events or projects.

Professionalism and exceptional client service is fully expected.

Ability to articulate and communicate effective website and digital user experience best practices is required.
