Job Summary
The
College of Liberal Arts Office of Communications and Marketing is seeking candidates for the position of
Communications and Marketing Specialist II/III . This person will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing and communication plans to promote the vision, mission, goals and achievements of the College of Liberal Arts.
This position is a key member of the College of Liberal Arts communications and marketing team and will work collaboratively on multiple projects with team members, including print and digital materials, video projects, websites, and more.
The College of Liberal Arts is the intellectual heart of Auburn University. With over 4,700 students and 800 faculty and staff, CLA is a diverse college offering degrees in the fine and performing arts, communication, humanities, social sciences and aviation.

Essential Functions
Research and compose content for dissemination through a variety of mediums such as websites, press packages, newsletters, magazines and social media
Write media pitches for CLA faculty research and creative scholarship and submit to appropriate external media outlets
Develop, implement and manage CLA's social media content, including overall strategy
Create, implement and track social media campaigns and ads to support engagement, recruitment and alumni relations efforts
Define and track social media KPIs
Implement SEO and content optimization strategies
Collaborate with news, web and creative directors to ensure content is informative and appealing
Keep abreast of the latest industry best practices and technologies
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Level II : Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Digital Media, English, Creative Writing or related field and 2 years of experience in marketing and communications services to include print journalism.
Level III : Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Digital Media, English, Creative Writing or related field and 4 years of experience in marketing and communications services to include print journalism.
Substitution allowed for Experience : When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.
Minimum Skills, License, and Certifications
Minimum Skills and Abilities
Knows and applies fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular field of specialization, with awareness of related fields.
Minimum Technology Skills
Minimum License and Certifications
None Required.

Knowledge of best journalistic practices
Experience with social media content creation, including video production and editing
Experience with earned media platforms such as Cision
Understanding of SEO and Google Analytics
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud
Good understanding of accessibility and plain language standards

Team player and multitasker
