Role Summary
  • This position is part of the Life & Annuity Solutions team, which is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our life and annuity products. The team is at the forefront of delivering innovative solutions that enhance customer experience and drive business growth.
  • This role contributes to customer experience and business analyst functions within the company's new issue and inforce illustration systems for life and annuity products, riders, and illustration system enhancements.
  • A successful candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, ensuring accuracy through rigorous testing while balancing multiple priorities with adaptability, exceptional attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • This position will report to, Senior Illustration Systems Analyst.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Support the team in maintaining an accurate and functional illustration system while contributing to the accelerated pace of system implementation and its continuous improvement. This role plays a key part in enhancing the customer experience and adapting to evolving business needs.

To accomplish this, the role involves the following responsibilities:

Technical Responsibilities include:
  • Develop and refine detailed test strategies, build test cases, create traceability matrices, and define expected results in collaboration with the team.
  • Execute test cases as part of User Acceptance Testing (UAT), identifying and documenting defects to support system accuracy.
  • Monitor and manage system defects and enhancements utilizing issue tracking tools, ensuring timely follow-ups.
  • Support the development of business requirements for User Interface (UI), NAIC-compliant illustrations, and other projects by gathering information and assisting senior analysts in documentation.
  • Contribute to improving the illustration testing processes.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot issues with illustration systems, escalating more complex challenges to senior team members as needed.
  • Aid in generating new issue and inforce illustrations for products and policies with characteristics not currently supported by existing systems.
Innovation & Customer Experience Responsibilities include:
  • Support process and system enhancements by researching and analyzing ways to improve both the buying and selling customer experience.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders across departments, under the direction of senior team members, including third-party vendors (e.g., Hexure), Distribution Innovation, Product Development, Marketing, Legal & Compliance, and Customer Innovation.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure while working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and solutions-oriented.
  • Creative problem solver open to exploring innovative solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with life insurance and/or annuity products and riders.
  • Familiarity with illustration systems for life and/or annuity products.
  • Proficiency in performing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and developing detailed test plans.
  • Background in User Interface (UI) and/or User Experience (UX) design.
Work Arrangements:

Hybrid
  • This position currently offers an onsite hybrid work schedule, with the expectation that you are in the office three days per week during onsite core days. Our current onsite core days are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The work schedule type and core days are subject to change with advance notification and manager discretion.

The base compensation range represents the low and high end of the range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to qualifications, skills, competencies, location, and experience. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees.
Other rewards may include an annual bonus, quarterly bonuses, commissions, and other long-term incentive compensation, depending on the position. National Life offers a competitive total rewards package which includes: a 401(k) retirement plan match; medical, dental, and vision insurance; a company funded wellness account for director and below employees; 10 paid holidays; a generous paid time off plan (22 days of combined time-off for non-exempt employees and exempt employees have discretion in managing their time, including scheduling time off in the normal course of business, but in no event will exempt employees receive less sick time than required by state or local law); 6 weeks of paid parental leave; and 6 weeks of paid family leave after a year of full-time employment.
