Job Description
Position Summary:
The Design Studio Consultant / Designer will be responsible for file preparation, scheduling, and producing beautiful color selection for Quick Move In home production sales. This position reports to the Design Studio Manager and ensures delivery of excellent customer experience for our homebuyers.
Responsibilities:
- Read Blueprints and documents, preparing homebuyers and spec home files for color selections.
- Lead design appointments with homebuyers, guiding them successfully through color selections in a timely manner, with confidence.
- Provide accurate and helpful product knowledge to all homebuyers, utilizing Community Specifications.
- Sales Talent – Value Selling, respecting homebuyer budget constraints.
- Compose clear and concise price requests, drawings and color selections final documents.
- Work with other related departments to ensure the best homebuyer experience and adhering to company expectations.
- Up to date on current design trends and able to discuss and advise home buyers.
- Compose professional correspondence with accurate spelling and grammar.
- Return all calls and email within a minimum 24-hour period.
- Communicate and work closely with the Design Team, Management, and Internal Customers, escalating any concerns or potential issues to Design Studio Manager immediately.
- Consistently contributes to keeping the Design Studio tidy, and samples stored and organized.
- Provide hospitality for all guests, including refreshments, keeping the Coffee Bar stocked and clean.
- Assist peers and/or management on their projects, as requested and volunteer when possible.
- Accurate record keeping/filing all documents, drawings, notes and other data as directed.
- Special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, or related professional experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of previous Design Studio experience, preferably within the new home construction industry.
- Strong communication skills and comfortable communicating cross-functionally with internal and external business partners.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and deliverables in a dynamic environment.
- HB1, TEAMS, Blue Beam, Adobe Acrobat & DocuSign experience a plus though not required.
- Math skills – basic functions & strong knowledge of Excel required.
- Excellent computer skills with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
Physical Requirements:
May be required to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and carry office materials and supplies weighing 25 pounds or less. Finger dexterity is required to operate a computer keyboard. This position requires public contact, as such, appropriate business apparel and professional appearance is expected.
Travel Requirements:
Occasional travel may be required. A valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance are required at all times.
