We are seeking a passionate and skilled Communications Coordinator to join our team, helping us effectively engage with our community through various digital platforms and communication strategies.
Job Summary
The Communications Coordinator will be responsible for managing the church’s wide array of communication channels, including online platforms, podcasts, and marketing efforts. The role demands creativity, organization, and a comprehensive understanding of digital communication tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive communications calendar to streamline promotional activities.
- Manage the posting of weekend messages to platforms.
- Oversee the church's main website, ensuring content is up-to-date and engaging.
- Manage app content using Subsplash.
- Coordinate project management tasks for the entire Communications/Design team via Asana.
- Manage posting for various Hope Fellowship podcasts on Podbean.
- Produce and distribute email campaigns in Mailchimp for various ministries.
- Write and prepare video announcement scripts.
- Publish and manage weekend content in the app such as fill-in notes or push notifications and handle any app updates as they arise.
- Manage Playlister for lobby TV graphics and update campus playlists weekly.
- Serve as a point of contact for marketing/advertising efforts, in coordination with the Communications Director.
- Manage and monitor Google My Business and Yelp profiles with current information such as hours, reviews, photos, and events.
- Coordinate and create staff email signatures.
- Process and fulfill online merchandise orders, including creating shipping labels.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field is not required, but highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in a communications or marketing role, ideally within a church or non-profit setting.
- Strong knowledge of web development and website management, with experience working on platforms like Subsplash or Squarespace and maintaining multiple site functionalities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with digital content creation tools and website management.
- Proficiency with project management tools like Asana and communication tools like Mailchimp.
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently, with a strong commitment to the mission and values of Hope Fellowship.
