General Function:

  • Plan, develop, implement, and manage an effective systems support strategy.
  • Understand the Air Force’s 12 Product Support Elements.
  • Support the development of the Transportation Plan and the Defense Transportation System process.
  • Assist in planning and managing life-cycle logistics support for major weapon systems or subsystems.
  • Integrate functions like supply, maintenance, procurement, and quality assurance.
  • Monitor compliance with milestones and performance criteria.
  • Coordinate and integrate taskings.
  • Evaluate program support effectiveness and ensure adherence to schedules.
  • Identify conflicting objectives, analyze deficiencies, and assist in schedule risk assessments.
  • Provide recommendations on potential issues and mitigations.
  • Review program documents and assess external actions’ impacts on the program.
  • Help resolve conflicts related to program and policy matters.
  • Have knowledge of logistics policies, including Title 10 United States Code Section 2466.
  • Understand ILS planning, development, and execution principles.
  • Assist in the planning, analyzing, and coordination of system acquisition and operational use.
  • Help identify resources (money, manpower, material, etc.) required for the program.
  • Assist in data analysis to determine logistics goals and objectives.
  • Help establish relationships between participants involved in the deployment plan.
  • Assist with technical evaluation of weapon systems' logistics and maintenance requirements.
  • Help develop logistics support and maintainability programs or plans.
  • Assist with budgetary/financial analysis and lifecycle cost control.
  • Support AIS hardware/software standardization, RAM-C assessments, and program evaluation.
  • Collect, compile, and analyze logistics, maintenance, and financial data.
  • Help develop and validate documentation for automated logistics or maintenance data systems.
  • Assist in managing, monitoring, and evaluating ILS implementation.
  • Support monitoring of acquisition projects throughout their execution.
  • Ensure milestones and performance criteria are met.
  • Coordinate and integrate taskings from various functional organizations.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of program support and ensure schedules are followed.
  • Identify conflicting priorities and advise the USG on necessary actions.
  • Gather facts, develop conclusions, and provide recommendations to resolve issues.

Qualifications:

Education/Certifications/Experience/Skills:

  • MA/BA Degree and at least 3 years of DoD experience related to the position requirement, OR, 7 years of directly related experience, 5 of which must be with the DoD.
  • Must possess and maintain a government security clearance at the Secret level.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft programs (including Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Must be able to transport self to various facility sites, as required. If using own motor vehicle, must possess a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
  • Must have the ability to solve problems and troubleshoot various situations to develop successful outcomes within established program/project guidelines.
  • Must have the knowledge, experience, and demonstrated ability to perform tasks related to the technical/professional discipline they are performing.
