Position Description:

  • Have knowledge and understanding of the DoDI 5000.02 and DoDI 5000.75, which define the policies and practices for systems acquisition and program management within the Department of Defense (DoD).
  • Ability to apply expertise to both Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and U.S. Air Force (USAF) systems, subsystems, equipment, and services.
  • Expertise handling procurement activities, managing projects and programs, and overseeing life-cycle acquisition processes.
  • Ability to perform all tasks in a manner that supports the overarching goals and mission of the Directorate.
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative techniques for gathering, analyzing, and measuring the effectiveness of acquisition programs.
  • Knowledge of support activities that assist the program manager in assessing program schedules and cost baselines.
  • Capability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, providing quality acquisition and program documentation.
  • Abilities to plan, research, analyze and assess system acquisition in terms of development, production, and deployment of weapon systems.
  • Efficiently formulate plans and recommend effective strategies in meeting cost, schedule, and performance objectives.
  • Abilities to support and develop acquisition reports, including statutory and regulatory reports.
  • Abilities to support program management reviews and senior level meetings/reviews.
  • Abilities to assist the PM and Acquisition Team in the planning and organizing of program management activities.
  • Abilities to plan, organize, complete, and present assessments of program management concepts.
  • Abilities to assist in acquisition strategy planning and document preparation.
  • Knowledge to interface and coordinate with lateral USG organizations.
  • Abilities to assist with the resolution of programmatic issues and document the status and decisions.
  • Abilities to establish and maintain databases and assist in the development and analysis of key program metrics.
  • Abilities to develop, report, and maintain schedules and metrics needed to track program status.

Qualifications:

  • MA/BA Degree and at least 3 years of experience related to the position requirements, 3 of which must be with the DoD, OR, 7 years of directly related experience, 5 of which must be with the DoD.
  • Must possess and maintain government security clearance at the Secret Level.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft programs (including Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Must be able to transport self to various facility sites, as required.
  • Must have the ability to solve problems and troubleshoot various situations.
  • Must have the knowledge, experience, and demonstrated ability to perform tasks related to the technical/professional discipline they are performing.
