Position Overview The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) is a senior leadership role reporting to key stakeholders and responsible for shaping and executing the organization’s strategic marketing initiatives. The CMO oversees all marketing functions, including brand development, digital marketing, content creation, product launches, and customer acquisition strategies. This role requires a dynamic leader with a blend of analytical expertise, creative vision, and operational excellence to drive business growth, profitability, and brand loyalty. Key Responsibilities Strategic Marketing Leadership Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy to support business objectives, focusing on brand awareness, customer engagement, and revenue growth. Lead long-term and short-term marketing planning to maximize ROI and market share. Brand Development & Positioning Oversee the creation and execution of a cohesive brand identity and marketing campaigns across all channels. Ensure consistent messaging, storytelling, and visual identity in all marketing communications. Team Leadership & Management Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing marketing team, including the art department, product development, digital marketing, content team, and affiliate/creator partnerships. Establish clear objectives, KPIs, and performance metrics to ensure accountability and success. Market Research & Consumer Insights Conduct market research to identify opportunities, competitive trends, and customer behaviors. Leverage data and consumer insights to refine marketing strategies. Digital Marketing & Performance Management Oversee all aspects of digital marketing, including SEO, SEM, email marketing, social media, and paid campaigns. Optimize marketing spend for return on ad spend (ROAS) and own the eCommerce P&L to drive digital profitability. Oversee all aspects of influencer marketing. Identify opportunities for growth. Content Development & Campaign Execution Lead content planning and execution to ensure alignment with brand identity and performance goals. Manage promotional calendars, seasonal initiatives, and product launches, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery. Customer Acquisition & Retention Develop and execute strategies for acquiring new customers and nurturing existing ones. Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to enhance the customer journey and improve lead conversion. Cross-Functional Collaboration Align with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure marketing strategies support overall company objectives. Partner with the sales, product, and customer service teams to create a seamless customer experience. Align with Product Development and key stakeholders to create marketing strategy for existing and new products. Budget & ROI Management Develop and manage the marketing budget, prioritizing resources effectively. Track, analyze, and report on the performance of all campaigns, ensuring they meet or exceed KPIs. Public Relations & Communications Oversee public relations, media outreach, and crisis communication strategies. Represent the brand as a spokesperson at key events and public engagements. Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus. Experience: 10 years in marketing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Proven track record of driving business growth through innovative marketing strategies. Hands-on experience managing digital marketing platforms and traditional channels. Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Expertise in digital marketing technologies, performance marketing, and data analytics. Proficiency in budget management, forecasting, and ROI optimization. Creative problem-solving and a results-driven mindset. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with SaaS platforms such as Kalviyo, Shopify, WunderKind, AgoraPulse and SalesForce. Deep understanding of advertising platforms and media platforms for Meta, TikTok, Twitter, Youtube and Google. Experience with global branding and public relations initiatives. Experience with Influencer Marketing. Experience with Product Development. Robust experience with Excel or Google Sheets.
