The Senior Marketing Manager is a key part of this community providing additional leadership on the Marketing team and helping to drive efficient execution of the Go-To-Market Plan. This role serves as a "product manager" for specific business units and industry sectors, lending expertise to inform a wide range of marketing activities, from strategy to execution.

This is a full-time, exempt, US-based role reporting to the Associate Marketing Director. We value camaraderie and the benefits of in-person connection. We prefer candidates to join us in a voluntary flexible hybrid work style at one of our office hubs in San Francisco, CA; Portland, OR; Portland, ME; or New York, NY. This voluntary model provides flexibility while fostering team collaboration. Exceptional remote candidates within the US will also be considered. Periodic travel may be required for team collaboration, training, or company events.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Senior Marketing Manager's primary responsibilities will be:

  • Serve as lead "Product Manager" and strategic partner for key business units and industries, playing a pivotal role in supporting 3Degrees' commercial and environmental markets strategic initiatives. You will develop deep subject matter expertise in their key products/services, including new product development, marketing, and the research and analysis of customer, competitive, and market insights, which will be shared across the cross-functional team
  • Inform and help implement digital marketing activation plans in support of our key marketing objectives inclusive of PPC, SEO, social media, content syndication, and other digital demand generation channels
  • Play a pivotal role in the development and execution of the Go-To-Market plan, including customer persona development, segmentation, brand and product positioning, messaging, and customer journey optimization
  • Develop the thought leadership strategy and content, inclusive of blogs, webinars, position papers, panels, etc
  • Develop and execute cohesive, impactful integrated marketing activations for client announcements and other campaigns, including but not limited to case studies, webinars, event panels, press releases, etc
  • Develop effective sales collateral (decks, one-pagers, etc.) to support the needs of the business development and product teams
  • Research and recommend key events, including 3Degrees hosted and partner webinars, and sponsorships that are aligned with the GTM objectives; lead the execution of the events with support from other team members
  • Expertly navigate attribution models and marketing performance data to make informed decisions and report on key results to business leaders


ABOUT YOU

You are a skilled marketer with a proven track record of contributing to a cross-functional marketing team. You have a passion for developing a wide variety of content -- ranging from short-to-long-form thought leadership to lead nurture campaign emails and more -- and are an excellent communicator. You have forged and fostered successful collaborations with sales and other cross-functional team members, working in close partnership to deliver critical marketing results and achieve business goals. You embrace data and are comfortable capturing, synthesizing, and using it to inform decisions. You are a self-starter, detail-oriented, and enjoy being challenged. You enjoy stretching your skillset and are confident in asking for support when needed. You thrive moving fluidly between strategy setting, project management, and implementation. You have a strong desire to make the world a better place and are excited to help 3Degrees' customers take urgent action on climate change.

Required
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in B2B marketing planning and execution, including a progression of responsibility
  • Fluency working in Salesforce and demonstrable competency in navigating Pardot or similar platforms and other marketing and CMS tools such as Google Analytics, WordPress, SEMrush, etc
  • Proven ability to execute cross-functional integrated marketing campaigns, report on campaign results, and deliver on business goals
  • Superior writing skills, with the ability to write a range of compelling short and long-form B2B content
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic and ability to prioritize
  • Shared passion for our mission to help businesses and their customers take urgent action on climate change

Preferred
  • Previous team management experience
  • Familiarity with the renewable energy and/or sustainability industry
  • Experience navigating WordPress and supporting website maintenance

HOW WE DEFINE SUCCESS

Within the First 30 Days:
  • Relationship Building: Establish strong cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders in Sales, Product, Business Units, and other relevant teams
  • Team and Process Familiarization: Gain a solid understanding of the Marketing team's structure, processes, systems (including Salesforce, Pardot, Google Analytics, WordPress, SEMrush, etc.), and other tools
  • Business Acumen: Develop a foundational understanding of 3Degrees' business, strategic priorities, key products/services, and target markets
  • Initial Product/Service Immersion: Begin developing subject matter expertise in assigned business units and industry sectors, focusing on customer needs and competitive landscape

Within the First 90 Days:
  • Go-To-Market Plan Contribution: Actively contribute to the execution of the Go-To-Market plan, supporting specific marketing tactics as assigned
  • Content Development: Begin developing various marketing content pieces, such as blog posts, social media updates, or sales collateral, demonstrating strong writing skills
  • Digital Marketing Execution: Contribute to digital marketing activities, including PPC, SEO, social media, content syndication, and paid media campaigns
  • Sales Enablement Support: Provide initial support to the sales team by developing or refining sales enablement tools and resources
  • Event/Webinar Support: Support the planning and execution of marketing events and webinars

Within the First 6 Months:
  • "Product Manager" Effectiveness: Demonstrate effectiveness as a "product manager" for assigned business units, providing valuable insights and support to commercial and environmental market initiatives
  • Go-To-Market Plan Impact: Show measurable progress on key initiatives within the Go-To-Market plan, demonstrating an understanding of customer persona development, segmentation, brand and product positioning, and messaging
  • Thought Leadership Contribution: Contribute meaningfully to the thought leadership strategy by developing and promoting high-quality content, including blogs, webinars, white papers, etc
  • Campaign Performance: Successfully execute integrated marketing campaigns, demonstrating an ability to report on results and make data-driven adjustments
  • Sales Team Enablement: Equip the sales team with effective tools and resources to drive sales growth
  • Customer Insights: Develop and share customer, competitive, and market insights with cross-functional team members on a regular cadence

Within 1 Year:
  • Go-To-Market Plan Ownership: Take ownership of key components of the Go-To-Market plan, driving successful execution and achieving strategic objectives. This includes smooth and timely execution of the plan
  • Business Impact: Demonstrate a positive impact on key business metrics, such as lead generation, brand awareness, or customer engagement
  • Strategic Planning: Develop strategic marketing plans for assigned business units, aligned with overall company goals
  • Marketing Performance Analysis: Expertly navigate attribution models and marketing performance data to make informed decisions and report on key results to business leaders
  • Sales and BU Partner Satisfaction: Ensure sales team and BU partners are well-armed with key sales and marketing tools and feel an increased level of service and heightened subject matter expertise
  • KPI Achievement: Achieve scorecard KPIs related to assigned business units and marketing initiatives

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The following compensation and benefits information is based on 3Degrees' good faith estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future:
  • Compensation: The starting base salary for this position is $89,000-$121,000 in the US. Base pay is dependent upon many factors such as location, transferable or job-related skills, work experience, relevant training, business needs, and market demands. The base salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future
  • Benefits: This position is eligible for a benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401k, flexible paid time off, and more. Additional information regarding the benefits available for this position can be found here
  • Supplemental Pay: This position may be eligible to participate in discretionary bonus programs based on personal, department and company goals
