Executive Vice President of Manufacturing and Operations at Oscar de la Renta Oscar de la Renta is seeking a Technical Designer for its Production team. The role reports to ODLR's head of Production and will be 5-days per week on-site in our midtown Manhattan office. Qualifications: 2 to 6 years of experience in a technical designer role with a strong background in garment construction and pattern making. B.A technical design or job related equivalent Luxury brand experience is a plus Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Problem solving skills and attention to detail Strong knowledge of technical design and finishings Ability to create technical drawings based on pictures or samples on illustrator or other software Create and review tech packs to ensure comprehensive and clear information is provided to domestic and overseas factories. Knowledge of silhouettes, fabrication, sewing techniques, trim and construction. Advanced computer skills on Illustrator, Microsoft Office Suite, PLM Responsibilities: Follow T&A calendar to help fit styles from SMS to DUP to TOP stage. Oversee fittings: update tech packs and technical sheets Liaise with production team to review fit comments and finishings specifications. Work with patternmakers, development teams to obtain accuracy for finishings and trims. Create technical drawings based on samples or pictures. Create and / or maintain fit guides measurements and silhouette integrity per garment category Work with production team to arrange QC inspections at warehouse as needed. Evaluate samples for measurement, fit, construction accuracy and quality according to Brand standards. Transcript the finishing details of each piece on a technical sheet.
